Callisto had two lock boxes today, rather than just one. She pointed at the first box. "Shoes."

Then she pointed at the second box. "Now your clothes. Everything except your underwear."

After everyone had removed their clothing and placed it in the box, Callisto continued "If you spend a prolonged period of time in the wilderness, then it is more than likely whatever clothing you were wearing at the time will come under a considerable amount of wear and tear, especially if it wasn't designed for the environment you're in. The results can be… unpleasant to say the least.

"Luckily, it is possible to repair, and even make clothing from items found in the wilderness. Animal skins, some kinds of tree barks, vines, sinew. The possibilities, if not endless, are at least more varied than you'd think. Even luckier for you, I'm not making you hunt and forage for the raw materials.

"I think you can guess the rest of today's lesson. Use the materials I've provided to make garments to replace the ones you were wearing before. I know the equipment might be a primitive compared to what some of you may be used to, all bone needles and stone knives, but well, you'll just have to deal.

"Get to it," Callisto said. "And as an extra incentive, you're not getting your clothes back until next week, so make sure that you put a decent effort into the clothes."

"Do you train together a lot?" Buffy asked curiously, while blushing more. Sam was really very fit. She wondered idly how old he was, realizing that she'd never asked.

"Yeah, we do almost all of our training together. A lot of times, we train against each other." Sam smiled. "I've learned that I'm finally past the age where Dean's willing to pull his punches, that's for sure."

"And what age is that?" Buffy asked, and tried to figure out how to get the sinew through the animal skin. She was starting to think her needle was defective.

"Um. Fourteen," Sam replied, turning back to his animal skins. Surely there had to be a way he could make something to cover his lower half out of these.

Buffy blinked, then her eyebrows rose. "What?"

Sam looked over at Buffy again. Clearly, that hadn't been the right answer. "I'm a year younger than Dean," he said, almost amazed by how he was getting used to that.

Buffy facepalmed. "Oh my god! I'm totally cradle robbing!"

Sam winced a little. "It's not cradle robbing. I mean, you're how old?"

"Sixteen!" Buffy wailed. She looked at him between her fingers. "You don't look fourteen," she accused.

"I'm sorry?" Sam said uncertainly. "It's only two years. That's not that big of a difference. And hey, if I don't look fourteen, no one will know you're cradle robbing."

"It's different for guys," Buffy pointed out. She lowered her hands though. Sam might only be fourteen, but he was really nice... "Does Dawn know you're fourteen? 'Cause she should've told me. There's rules about this kind of thing, I'm sure there are."

"Well, now that I think about it, I don't think we've ever had a specific age conversation. I just sort of assumed that she knew..." Sam trailed off. "I think there's only rules when someone's over the age of consent, and the other person isn't. Neither one of us can consent, so really, it's okay." Not that Sam had schooled himself in what it would be like to date an older woman or anything.

Buffy looked willing to be convinced, then she spotted Alec (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/903581.html?thread=45121437#t45121437) and her jaw dropped. "...Holy crap!"

Sam turned to see what she was looking at, saw Alec, and turned to look away so quickly he nearly gave himself whiplash. "Oh...tell me he's not completely naked."

"He really, really is." Buffy tilted her head to get a better look. "Wow, your brother's fit. Not that you're not! Um. ...Wow."

Sam completely facepalmed, letting out a light whimpering type noise. "I swear, I am going to kill Alec." Picking his head up, he glanced at Buffy. "Could you please stop staring? This is freaking me out."

Buffy looked away guiltily. "Sorry! Only, he's all -" handwave. "-Nekkid! It's very hard - difficult! - not to look. ...You know, I'm starting to think Callisto might be evil."

"Yes," Sam agreed. "Very, very evil." He took a quick glance over towards Alec, sighing deeply. "At least he'll have to make more clothing to get back to school safely."
