Sam Eagle Presents: Weird Or Not Weird?, Tuesday 6/30 Period 3
“Good morning class!” Sam boomed. “Today we return to our studies of what is weird or not. I hope you have all been keeping up with your homework!”
There was no homework.
“Today is the final day of June which means it is almost July which means, of course, that Independence Day is nearly upon us! That is not weird. Far from it! Today, instead, we shall be discussing SOCCER! Because it is the season for The World Cup which is being hosted by America!”
“Now, this is soccer. Not football. Calling it football is weird. Football is an entirely different game!”
Nevermind that the rest of the world agreed it was football and not soccer.
“The weirdest thing about soccer, in my estimation, is the constant yelling of GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL. That is far too many Os for one word. It’s unseemly. Undignified!”
“Still,” Sam continued, “the US team will be playing tomorrow. Your assignment is to watch the game and cheer for the correct team even though the game is weird!”
