Archery Workshop #4, 6/13, Danger Shop, Afternoon

The setup should be starting to look kind of familiar to the students by now. Grass, sun, bows, arrows, targets. However, this week, the targets are somewhat smaller than they were the week before. Not absurdly small, just smaller.

Miho is sitting in a lounge chair under a shade umbrella, where she can watch all of her students, hopefully without getting shot. The sign-in sheet is on a card table next to her, along with a plate of doughnuts and a pitcher of somewhat sour lemonade with a stack of plastic cups.

On the portable blackboard is this message to the students: Shoot things. Not each other. Good luck! with a big smiley face drawn under it.

The ninja is in a disturbingly good mood, it would seem.

Dean looked at her with narrowed eyes for a moment, then said, "You told me that your mom used to call you little punkin belly."

Dawn shot a look around the room to make sure no one had heard that, but accepted that it was actually her boyfriend in Alec's body. "What happened? How long will it last? Is it weird? Does it feel the same as your body?"

Dean chuckled at her barrage of questions. "Let's see if I can answer them in order. What happened -- Willow was trying to cast a protective spell I asked her for. It didn't go as planned. How long will it last -- we're still working on it. Willow's trying to work out what went wrong so she can put us back where we belong. Is it weird -- yes. Though at least since Alec looks like me, I recognise the face in the mirror and my clothes still fit. Does it feel the same as my body -- yes and no. It does when I don't think about it, but when I do, Alec's got a lot of bells and whistles that I don't."

"Willow?" Dean might not notice it, but Dawn's jaw tightened a small amount. "She did a spell that did this?"

"Bells and whistles?" She asked curiously, trying not to stomp out of archery and go yell at Willow.

"It wasn't supposed to do this," Dean explained. "It was supposed to make it so if someone tried to grab Alec or he was in trouble, I'd know about it and be able to find him. Like I said, it didn't go as planned."

He grinned. "And yeah, bells and whistles. Alec's been genetically enhanced so at the moment I'm super fast, super strong, and have better senses, including this neat telephoto zooming thing with my sight."

Dawn's expression didn't change. "Did you think of just putting a homing beacon on him, or something, or did ~~Willow~~ you just jump straight to magic as a solution?"

"You didn't get x-ray vision too, did you?"

"The people after him probably would find anything that was technologically based. But they don't seem to know about magic." Dean shrugged. "Magic seemed the best choice in this situation."

"As for x-ray vision..." He made a show of looking intently at Dawn. "Nope, doesn't look like it."

Dawn accepted that explanation for the moment, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to keep an eye on Willow, just in case.

"Tell me you did not just try to find out what color underwear I have on." She raised an eyebrow.

"I could but I'd be lying."

"Are you sure you're not Alec?" And of course Dawn was trying to remember what color underwear she had on. She thought it was blue, but she wasn't positive. She'd check the strap when he wasn't looking.

"Pretty sure, yeah." He waggled his eyebrows at her. "Want to kiss me to make sure?"

"How will that tell me anything? I have no idea how Alec kisses." She grinned a bit evilly, 99% positive she was really talking to Dean. "Although, here's my opportunity, I guess. He's gotten an awful lot of press."

"Yeah, but that's just because I'm a lot pickier about who I kiss so there's less people to give testimonials."

Dawn started laughing. "Does this mean I need to call the radio station?"

Dean grinned. "If you think my kissing is newsworthy."

"Newsworthy?" Dawn grinned back. "Maybe..."

"Only maybe?" He leaned a little closer. "Will have to try harder."

"If you get shot by the professor, it's not my fault," she informed him.

He shrugged. "Alec heals quickly."

"Then you get to stand in front of the arrow."

Dean grinned. "I can do that." He glanced around and risked giving Dawn a very quick kiss.

Dawn kissed him back, then pulled back, frowning. "You taste different."

"I do? What do I taste like?" Dean asked curious.

"I don't know." She shrugged. "Just...different."

"Is it a bad different?"
