Archery Workshop #4, 6/13, Danger Shop, Afternoon

The setup should be starting to look kind of familiar to the students by now. Grass, sun, bows, arrows, targets. However, this week, the targets are somewhat smaller than they were the week before. Not absurdly small, just smaller.

Miho is sitting in a lounge chair under a shade umbrella, where she can watch all of her students, hopefully without getting shot. The sign-in sheet is on a card table next to her, along with a plate of doughnuts and a pitcher of somewhat sour lemonade with a stack of plastic cups.

On the portable blackboard is this message to the students: Shoot things. Not each other. Good luck! with a big smiley face drawn under it.

The ninja is in a disturbingly good mood, it would seem.

Parker blinked at Bel, then her lips thinned to a line. "Do I want to know?"

"I'm stuck," Bel grumbled. "Can't change into my human form."

She raised one eyebrow. "Has this ever happened before? And is something stopping you?" She paused. "Anything I can do? You're freaking me out."

"I've never been stuck like this before," Bel said. "I don't know if something's stopping me, either. I just can't change back into human form. Normally it's just like breathing."

Parker looked deeply uneasy, and studied Bel suspiciously. "Right. You've got it under control? You don't want to set fire to all of us right now, right?"

"If I find out who did this to me I might want to set fire to them," Bel grumbled.

Parker relaxed a tiny, tiny bit. "I'm glad the temper isn't any worse than usual." She studied him carefully, and said, "I don't think I've seen you like this since the first Student Council campaign."

"I've gone back and forth a few times," Bel said. "But mostly I stick to the human form. I just like it better."

She studied Bel dispassionately, and said, "It's not ugly, but it's definitely -- distancing. It's harder to read your expressions, with those markings on your face. And, well. The lack of hair does make you seem not-human."

"Not to mention my girlfriend finds me more, uh, loveable in human form," Bel said, scowling.

Parker's lips twitched. "Yeah, that would definitely do it. Do all demons look like you?" She cocked her head. "All the ones from your Underworld, anyway?"

"There's all kind of different races," Bel said. "But most upper level demons, yeah, they look like this, sometimes with different colors and markings. Only they all bleed green, not red, like me, even in human form."

Taking mental notes in case it comes up again, Parker said, "If you want help, later, just yell. I can ask get a note from a teacher and ask Rory to let me into Special Collections to research it."

"Thanks," Bel said. He sighed. "Hopefully this will just wear off or...something. If it's permanent I don't know what I'll do."

Parker blinked, and looked wary. And didn't mention what *she* might have to do in that case. "Let's keep our fingers crossed, then."
