Archery Workshop #4, 6/13, Danger Shop, Afternoon

The setup should be starting to look kind of familiar to the students by now. Grass, sun, bows, arrows, targets. However, this week, the targets are somewhat smaller than they were the week before. Not absurdly small, just smaller.

Miho is sitting in a lounge chair under a shade umbrella, where she can watch all of her students, hopefully without getting shot. The sign-in sheet is on a card table next to her, along with a plate of doughnuts and a pitcher of somewhat sour lemonade with a stack of plastic cups.

On the portable blackboard is this message to the students: Shoot things. Not each other. Good luck! with a big smiley face drawn under it.

The ninja is in a disturbingly good mood, it would seem.

"Y'know that really isn't a good look for you," Dean said, almost glad to be dealing with a demon as a distraction from his own not-my-body issues.

"Don't really have much choice in the matter at the moment," Bel growled.

"You made a face and the wind changed and now you're stuck that way?"

Bel suspected it was his demon side coming out after being suppressed for so many weeks, but he was hardly going to tell Dean that. "Don't know," he said roughly. "Woke up like this."

"That... doesn't seem like it could be a good thing," Dean observed, wondering if it was a sign of a bad enough thing that they'd need to get with the demon hunting. He didn't think so, not yet; aside from being all red and fugly, Bel didn't seem to be putting out evil vibes any more than usual.

But... it didn't seem like a good sign.

"I'll be fine," Bel said. "It's just...temporary. Has to be."

"Gotta say, you're not exactly being all confident sounding, there, Bel."

"Well, this has never happened to me before!" Bel growled. "I've never been stuck in one form or the other!"

"And I'm back to this not being good." Dean looked at Bel; it was hard to tell on demon features, but Dean thought mixed in with the frustration and anger was more than a little fear.

Dean sighed. He couldn't believe he was actually going to try and help a demon but... "Let's look at it logically," he said, approaching the problem like it was just another mystery he'd stumbled on during a hunt. "Have you ever heard of something like that happening to any other demon -- half-demon?"

"I'm the only half-demon," Bel said. "At least where I come from. But all upper level demons have a human form. A witch might be able to freeze a demon in one form or the other, I guess. But it wasn't Phoebe and I doubt it was Piper and Marie says Willow didn't do it."

"Yeah, Willow was a bit busy casting other things," Dean muttered half under his breath. "So it could be a spell. Is there any way to check for that -- have Phoebe or someone look for, I don't know, witchy fingerprints in your aura or something?"

"Yeah, I'll have her check," Bel said. "If it's magic, Phoebe ought to be able to find a trail or something." He sighed. "I just hope it's reversable, whatever it is."

"Well, you're still half-human, right? Unless that's been changed somehow, seems to me there's got to be some way to get back the outward appearance of it."

"That's what I keep trying to tell myself," Bel said, trying to not sound as miserable as he felt. "Believe me, I don't want to be stuck looking like this any longer than I have to."

"Don't blame you," Dean said, wondering if he was actually feeling sorry for a demon. "You can't do that um glamour thing some demons can? Like a localised hallucination?"

"Ask anyone around here what happens when I try magic," Bel said sheepishly, as sheepish as he could look in demon form. "I know sorcery but I'm not that good at it yet."

"My Latin can use some work too," Dean admitted.

"Latin I know," Bel said. "~~Badly written~~ Latin is what most of the magic I know is in. It's the primary magical language of the Underworld."

"It's the primary exorcism language too." He smirked slightly. "Maybe that's related."

"Makes sense," Bel said. "Using a demon's magic against him and all."
