Archery Workshop #4, 6/13, Danger Shop, Afternoon

The setup should be starting to look kind of familiar to the students by now. Grass, sun, bows, arrows, targets. However, this week, the targets are somewhat smaller than they were the week before. Not absurdly small, just smaller.

Miho is sitting in a lounge chair under a shade umbrella, where she can watch all of her students, hopefully without getting shot. The sign-in sheet is on a card table next to her, along with a plate of doughnuts and a pitcher of somewhat sour lemonade with a stack of plastic cups.

On the portable blackboard is this message to the students: Shoot things. Not each other. Good luck! with a big smiley face drawn under it.

The ninja is in a disturbingly good mood, it would seem.

Janet is not paying any particular attention to Parker. She seems rather focused on studying the bow and arrows, as a matter of fact.

Parker nodded to Janet. "Hey. How are you?"

"Just fine," said Janet, a touch too lightly for anyone who knew her. "You?"

Parker cocked an eyebrow at Janet, and slowly said, "Better. I didn't get hurt much on Saturday. My hands still sting, though."

"Hm. Maybe you should have gone to the clinic and gotten a pass for this workshop, then," said Janet, studying the fletching on her arrow.

Parker held out one gloved hand and said, "It's fine, really." She studied Janet. "What's up? You seem-- off."

Janet glanced over at Parker, her expression composed. "I'm fine, Parker," she said. "Why would anything be up?"

Parker studied Janet, then sighed. "I don't know. Or I wouldn't have to ask. You're being all controlled-calm-Janet, and that usually means you're pissed."

Janet's lips tightened. "Why would I be mad? Two of my best friends and a number of other people I like to consider close friends decided to go and hunt the undead without calling me in for medical backup." She shrugged. "I only found out something had happened when I showed up at the clinic the next morning and Buffy was there, unconscious."

Parker blinked, then palmed her face. "Oh, crap. No one called you. Gah."

"Yes, you were all apparently very busy, what with that entire week you had to do research and figure out what was going on."

OOC: Disclaimer - OOC access issues on my end, I know, but IC, Janet's very hurt. Just so you know.

"For the record? I didn't find out what was up until Thursday, when I was hallucinating and having nightmares 24/7. Friday I was too sleep-deprived to think straight. Saturday I had Detention. I'm sorry you didn't get called, but I honestly didn't even do a head-count during the meeting on Thursday to notice you weren't there." Parker sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"I know what kind of state you were in. I saw you Thursday, remember? I understand." Janet sighed. "But no one thought that I might want to help my friends. I don't know why I was passed over, and it bothers me, okay?"

Parker sighed. "Yeah, I get it." Mentioning that Bel had expressed the same opinions might not go over well, so she refrained from making that comparison. She *could* learn tact, really she could.

"From what I saw, it was just Dr. Pierce and the Dr. Elliot who were there. I'm not sure they thought about the aftermath this time, because I'm sure *they* didn't get any warning. They never do," Parker said dryly. "And I'm sorry."

"Thank you," said Janet, her voice tight. At least Parker had apologized. But still, they'd called in the administration and faculty doctors instead of her. Great. Sure. Fine. What, didn't anyone trust her all of a sudden?

Parker sighed. "Want to get a coffee or something after class?"

"That sounds like fun," said Janet, mustering a smile. "The Perk, or back to one of our rooms?"

OOC: *looks at clock* We will likely have to slowplay. I'm still not sure if I'm going to dance class tonight or not.

Parker tilted her head. "Rooms is probably good. Your place?"

This time Janet's smile was genuine. "You just want to take advantage of the espresso machine. But it's fine; that's what it's there for."

OOC: I'll make a room post, give me five minutes.
