Why was Arden here today instead of, you know, at home?
Honestly, she couldn't give a good reason. Sheer pig-headed stubbornness, maybe? And there was no guarantee she was staying the entire shift, either. Goddess, considering she'd checked the clock six times in five minutes, it was possible she wasn't staying the entire hour. But nobody could say she hadn't at least made the attempt!
"...We should get hazard pay for days like this," she muttered.

Re: Talk to the Aide
Pretty, pretty Arden who tragically had a pretty boyfriend of her own she probably wouldn't share.
"I'm in need of something to read."
And other things but those were likely not on offer. Alas.
Re: Talk to the Aide
Should I come by with your usual drink and sweet treat, or do you want me to have it for you when you're done working?
Re: Talk to the Aide
That many o's were also mandatory.
Speaking of o's--WAIT NO WE WEREN'T.
Re: Talk to the Aide
She hit send, then facepalmed. That wasn't what she'd--well, okay, she hadn't not--well, not here, anyway, Mr. Constantine would murder her, but--
Sorry, hit send by accident. Ignore that there was punctuation there, Cal, please. I meant to say, come here please?
Re: Talk to the Aide
"I've nothing but time to read."
Where was an eager young knight when you needed one? Or a grumpy old man who had somehow become a teenager again? Or a boy wizard? Or...anyone, really. It had been a bit of a dry spell.
Re: Talk to the Aide
...Well, Sairis wouldn't get her very far, but it wasn't like Arden knew that.
"Have you read the ones about the Greek gods who are kinda like...corporate CEOs? They're very sexy." She lowered her voice and added, "In the third one, the guy has to set an alarm because he was going down on the heroine and they had an appointment in an hour and without the alarm, they would have missed it. Just from that!"
