Detention - 06/10

The Danger Shop, when students enter, looks like a somewhat rough part of an older part of a town. There were a few old cars around, one of which was noticably red - noticably mainly due to the fact that everything was in black and white - including the kids themselves and if the Danger Shop can't do that, then *handwave* now it can - save for a few splashes of color.

Becky was leaning against a wall, a piece of chalk in her hand. Miho was, naturally, nowhere to be found. And she wouldn't be, until she felt the need to be seen. On the wall, in suprisingly neat writing, read:

Sam tried to switch to a Transylvanian accent, but it really sounded more Italian than anything else. "Do not make fun of my accent, or I will have to make you my next victim, ah ah ah!"

Dawn raised her hands in front of her defensively, "Oh, no, mister scary vampire. I am an innocent girl and am overwhelmed by your..." She cracked up. "I'm sorry, Sam. Really. Go ahead."

Seeing as how Sam was cracking himself up, he didn't mind making Dawn laugh too. "Perhaps we should go back to my lair after detention. I promise, your virtues will remain in tact."

"Aw, but mister vampire," Dawn pouted dramatically and tried to pose like a dopey heroine, "what's the fun in that? For you are dark and suave and overwhelm my mind with your psychic vampire powers."

"Ah, I see I do not have to do much convincing. Excellent..." Sam trailed off, allowing himself an evil grin as he looked at Dawn.

More melodramatic victim sighing, hand to her head and everything as she bent backwards slightly. She purposely made her voice higher and breathy, like the stupid victims in horror movies. "Oh, mister vampire...I'm at your mercy."

This was clearly not detention. No matter how stupid he had to look, there was no way a punishment could include having Dawn say something like that, even if it was all a joke.

"I think I might have to make you a vampire too," Sam said, moving a little closer. After all, he had to be convincing, didn't he? "You're far too pretty to just serve as lunch."

Something in Dawn's stomach warmed with Sam's words and it didn't seem quite so much like a game. She looked up at him and smiled sweetly.

"I don't know that I'd be a good vampire," Dawn said coyly, before she realized what she was really saying. "But it would be nice to know I'm more than just a meal for you."

Dawn's smile was making him feel rather warm too, and Sam had to focus on remembering that they were just fooling around.

"You are too special to be a meal." Pulling back slightly, he gave her a weary look. "You aren't one of those vampire hunters are you?"

"How did you ever guess?" Dawn said, standing up straighter and more confidently. She tried not to snicker. "We can never be together now, even though you are suave and powerful, because I am destined to destroy your kind. Woe."

"Are you sure I cannot use my suaveness and power to convince you to turn your back on such a destiny? I'm not the monster you think the rest of my kind is."

"It's a really good destiny," Dawn chewed on her lip as she pretended to consider Sam's question. "Oh, no? You're not the evil scourge I think you are? How can I trust you?"

"I haven't harmed you yet, have I?" Sam said smoothly. "If I were an evil scourge, I would have done something the moment I found out who you truly are."

Dawn walked closer to Sam, unconsciously mimicking the way she'd seen Buffy stand when talking with Angel and Spike.

She tossed her hair back over her shoulder, taunting him with her exposed neck. "You could be stringing me along. Gaining my trust, only to betray me later. Evil."
