Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

[ooc: Hang on to your collective hats while I get the OCD threads up, please.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

That's it! Go to town! Wait. No. Stay here and buy stuff...]

"Wow, lucky," says Anders. "This place is so different from Delphi Union it's crazy. I think I adapted okay, but sometimes I think my parents would yank me home in a second if they knew half the stuff about this place. And I really don't want that to happen."

"I understand," she smirks. "I was sent here to try to become more normal. I don't think it's what Ojou-sama had in mind, but I think it might actually be working."

Anders laughs. "That's sort of what happened to me. I mean, in a weird kind of way. My dad thought I should go somewhere where my schoolwork would let me focus more on playing Pyramid, and my mom thought I should get away from Caprica so I wouldn't focus on playing Pyramid so much. Well, it kinda worked. I can't exactly play it when nobody here knows how to play, but then I kind of ended up getting obsessed with baseball, too."

She was going to just let it pass as something she just didn't understand so it wasn't too important, but he mentioned it enough that it garnered enough curiousity. "What's Pyramid?" After a moment, she adds, "I mean, as a game."

Anders brightens up to a nearly disturbing degree, and gets very, very animated. "It's a game we play back home on Caprica," he says. "Both teams have to score through the same goal on a triangular court, and you're allowed to tackle people and stuff."

Sakurazaki smiles with a light laugh at his enthusiasm. "Sounds pretty neat."

"It is," says Anders, bouncing up and down a little bit. "It's rough though. I had a friend here who blew out her knee pretty bad back in December, playing." A slightly guilty look crosses his face. "She sort of up and left without saying anything, though. I have no idea where she is now."

A worried frown slips on her face. Always accidently touching a nerve, and then not knowing what to say in response to it. "I'm sure wherever she is, she's doing well..."

Anders smiles wistfully. "Hope so. I kinda miss her, for all the crap she liked to give me."

She hopes her smile seems encouraging. "I can understand what it's like to miss someone, definately."

"Long way from home too, huh?"

She nods. "Yup. Although not as far as some. It's still hard, though."

"This planet is a myth to most of the people where I come from. I totally get that it's hard," Anders tells her with a smile. "I have no idea where it is timewise, related to Earth. Or even spacewise. I think it's hard for all of us 'cause we're all from such different places, and dimensions, and whatever."
