Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

[ooc: Hang on to your collective hats while I get the OCD threads up, please.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

That's it! Go to town! Wait. No. Stay here and buy stuff...]

"I heard the library has a good supply of magic books and such to start," Peter said. "Then there's Miss Calendar who teaches magic. She might have some ideas to start with."

Seras nodded.

"Thank you, Peter," she said, "I really do appreciate it."

Pip gave an echoing peep of thanks.

"Have you found any books?" she asked.

"I hope it can help," Peter said, with a nod to both Seras and Pip. "I've found a couple, one on the British Navy (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0684869314/qid=1149880269/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/102-8119525-2640912?s=books&v=glance&n=283155) and one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0099219425/026-2132093-7583655) on recent British history. What about you?"

"Oh, I bought a couple paperback Westerns, alchemy books, and two more books about guns and fire arms."

"Alchemy? That's a unique interest. Why that?" He grinned. "I saw you at the range on Monday. Do you shoot a lot?"

"Well, I met Al. Alphonse Elric. He studies alchemy, and he's shown me a little of what he can do. It's spectacular, really. I don't think I'll be able to do any thing close to what he can, but it's still interesting to learn about."

Seras glanced down at the gun manuals she'd picked up.

"I don't actually. I just started learning last week."

Peter nodded at the alchemy explanation. "I don't think I've met Alphonse. He sounds interesting." Then he added, "we'll be gun range beginners together. Before Monday, archery was all the shooting I'd done."

Seras laughed.

"Well, that's still more experience than I've had," said Seras, "Did you find it terribly difficult to adjust to a gun?"

Re: Refreshments

"Definitely. Well, sighting is basically the same, but the stance is completely different. And bows don't really recoil at all. But the gun was interesting. I'd like to shoot again and learn more."

Seras nodded.

"I would to.

She couldn't say that she *liked* guns, exactly, but she had to admit that she was developing a certain fascination for them. And for the way that she felt when using them.
