Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

[ooc: Hang on to your collective hats while I get the OCD threads up, please.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

That's it! Go to town! Wait. No. Stay here and buy stuff...]

"Everyone is encouraging me way too much," said Anders with a grin. "Giving me free tickets, telling me where teams are so I can go see 'em, and the Baseball Hall of Fame too. You bet I'd love to go, but I kind of want to brush up on my baseball history some first, so it's not all over my head."

He pouted. "How come my actual schoolwork can't be this fun?"

"There are people that spend their summers traveling from place to place, seeing games. It's not a bad life if you can afford it," Isabel laughed. "Actually it's all a giant conspiracy to keep you here."

"How can you not be having fun in the workshops?"

"Oh, my workshops are fun," Anders amended quickly. "I just meant, you know, during the rest of the year."

He got a little glassy-eyed at the thought of spending all summer traveling around watching baseball, then shook himself. "If it's a giant conspiracy to keep me here, it's totally working."

"What workshops are you taking?" Isabel asked.

"Good, I'll report on our success to the rest of our collaborators."

"Cooking and Baking," said Anders with a significant shudder, "and Admiral Harrington's Outdoorsmanship and Leadership one."

He shook his head and grinned. "I knew you were involved somehow."

"It's not going well?" Isabel chuckled. "I thought you liked to cook. How is the Admiral? I was thinking of taking that course in the next session."

"Carter and I almost burned the place down," he said. "I think pancakes in a non-stick pan are about my limit. Crepes are seriously pushing it. But the Admiral's course is seriously cool. She's a little scary, but it's fun."

"You need to push your limits. Next time I cook, I'll call you. I'll show you some simple stuff," Isabel promised. "It is? I'll have to check it out then."
