Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

[ooc: Hang on to your collective hats while I get the OCD threads up, please.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

"It could be scary. I can see how someone might be frightened by it." Jack shrugged. "I think it's exciting and besides-" He stopped and was silent for a moment. "It's hard to be scared of someone you trust."

"I trust you too," Cedric says after a moment. "You know more about me then some of my friends at Hogwarts do. I trust you because you are trustworthy and you earned it."

"That works out well then. Thank you." Jack beamed at him. "I'm not sure how I earned it, but I'll do my best not to let you down."

"You've listened," Cedric says. "Simple as that. You've listened and you've made me had fun and you've been there when I felt sorry for myself."

Grinning, Jack replied, "You're easy to listen to, no matter what you're talking about, and the fun goes both ways." Stepping forward, he kissed Cedric. "I wonder what Freud would make of that?"

"Something odd," Cedric says, shaking his head. "He wouldn't understand. Now, he was dull."

And he kisses Jack in return.

Jack didn't even nod, just concentrated on carefully kissing Cedric, resting one hand lightly on his hip.

"All these old me surrounding us...in the literary sense," Cedric mumbles. "Do you think they're analyzing us?"

Jack lifted his head and laughed, his hand still on Cedric's hip. "They're probably to busy being jealous to analyse us."

"You think so?" He looks around at the books and then back to Jack. "They were never kissed in their lives before? Maybe that's the root of their need to analyze others?"

"I know they weren't kissed by me," Jack said, not even trying to sound modest. "And I'm pretty sure they weren't kissed by you. So, kissed or not, I think they've got good reason to be jealous."

"I've never kissed any of these men," Cedric says but, just to tease, peers at the books and the names just to make sure.

Jack mock-growled and snagged Cedric's chin, gently, but holding tight, and pulled Cedric back to face him. "I should hope not. I'm certainly not sharing you with a bunch of creepy old men."

"You're not," Cedric assures him quietly. "They're all rather...not you."

Jack's smile faded and he let go of Cedric, glancing briefly at the books before he turned back and grinned. "That's true," he said. "I am pretty unique."

"Very unique," Cedric agrees. "And you don't analyze me or my magic wand. For that alone, you deserve another kiss."

And he makes that happen.

Jack was happy to be kissed again. Especially as there weren't any dead philosophers involved.

His hand found it's way back to Cedric's face, then settled at the nape of his neck as he enthusiastically returned the kiss.

Cedric lingers for a long moment, enjoying kissing and being kissed, before pulling away. He stays close though and smiles.

"I never knew books fair in America could turn out so well."

"Neither did I. I've never been to a book fair before, but I think I'm beginning to see the attraction."

"Another first? For both of us then." Smiling, he says, "Book fairs are definitely a good thing."

"They are. I think it's all the knowledge." Jack nodded wisely. "And a shared first is, I think, a first."
