Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

[ooc: Hang on to your collective hats while I get the OCD threads up, please.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

That's it! Go to town! Wait. No. Stay here and buy stuff...]

Sam laughed. "All right, maybe I should just accept that we'll probably be doing something like this again."

"You sure?" Dawn laughed, "because I could probably go on. It's not a bad thing, Sam. Just a fact of life if you're me, or know me, or know someone who knows me..."
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

"Or if you're a member of my family, or a friend, or cross my path on the wrong day," Sam continued, nodding. "Yeah, I know, you're right. I don't know if I can stop hoping though, that one day that won't be true."

Dawn squeezed Sam's hand. "I hope so too, then."

Sam grinned and gave her hand a squeeze in return. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Dawn stood still, holding Sam's hand for a minute, then remembered she wasn't supposed to do that and let go.
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

Sam gave a little nervous laugh and pulled his hand back to his side, and he stood there uncomfortably for a few more moments before speaking again. "So, are you still looking at books here, or do you want me to show you where the romance novels are?"

"How do you know where they are?" She asked, suspiciously.
likethegun: (i'm making an innocent face)

"It was an accident!" Sam said quickly. "I thought I was going towards the biographies."

Dawn snickered. "Uh huh. Find anything good?"

"I didn't look at any of them. They were all brightly colored with horrible pictures on the covers and even worse writing."

Sam was beginning to wonder why the earth never opened and swallowed people when it really needed to.

"There were girls? Looking through other books. And reading parts out loud. That's how I knew I was in the wrong section."

Dawn was giggling. "Of course I believe you."
likethegun: (i'm laughing while looking down)

"Normally I'd say that it isn't nice to lie, but I think I might just let you get away with it this time."
