Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

[ooc: Hang on to your collective hats while I get the OCD threads up, please.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

The book made a very handy substitute for a desk Isabel found as she gently banged her head against it. "Just don't say anything to him? Please?"

Isabel looked around at the titles. "I'm definitely out of place if I'm looking for stuff for me to read."

"But if you refuse that tempting offer, what kind of stuff are you likely to read?"

"I have a fondess for trashy romances," Isabel admitted. "Although the occasional horror novel is also good. But since we're going to be facing that tomorrow night, I'll pass this time around."

"Have you read the Angelica Demesnes books with the ninjas and pirates?" Peter asked. "Those are romance, not horror."

"Yes I have," Isabel laughed. "I have them all. And now I'm wondering how you know about them."

"My Aunt May, Zero, Rory, and nearly every other girl I've met here," Peter said. He didn't mention Greg. There were some things you just shouldn't mention to people, no matter how funny it might be to do so.

"The prose is purple, it's historically inaccurate, and I still swear some of the love scenes are physically impossible unless you're a contortionist," Isabel declared. "But I still read every one."

If Isabel could have read Peter's mind? She would have appreciated his discretion.

"I'm just going to stay with my satirical fantasy novels and books about alternate realities," Peter said. "I get to enjoy those while being able to truthfully tell myself that they're actually well-written."
