Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

[ooc: Hang on to your collective hats while I get the OCD threads up, please.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

That's it! Go to town! Wait. No. Stay here and buy stuff...]

Not sure where to start, River ended up in the Science fiction section. She looked at some of the covers, skimmed some of the pages and shook her head.

Tyler came up beside her; he was looking for something with a lot of fighting and a plot that made sense. "Hey, River."

"Hello," River said with a frown on her face. "These people have strange ideas of the future."

Tyler looked at the shiny covers and frowned. "I guess they got a lot of stuff wrong, huh?"

"Yes," River said. She looked up at Tyler. "What books do you like?"

"I'll read anything," Tyler said. "Medical books, history ... I like old SF, like Kurt Vonnegut and Phillip K. Dick. Ray Bradbury." As he spoke, he nabbed a book by Vonnegut and tapped it against one palm. "What about you?"

"I grew up with most texts being digital. Actual books are a bit old fashioned. Haven't read much lately. My brother's medical journals and the Bible mainly." River shrugged.

Tyler nodded; digital texts made sense. "Is it the same Bible we have? Jesus, Mary, King David?" He hesistated. "Adam and Eve and the apple?"

"Yes. We had a Shepherd on the ship. I reedited it." She looked at the book Tyler had found. "That's a good book?"

Tyler weighed it in his palm. "I haven't read this one. I like the writer."

He squinted. "You edited the Bible? Cool."

"This section probably just seems silly to you doesn't it."
