Wilderness Survival - Week 3| Thursday Morning, A Clearing in the Woods

Callisto pointed to the lockbox. "Shoes."

Once she had everyone's shoes, she started walking out of the clearing. "Follow."

Then she took them on a little scenic walk.

With lots of lovely terrain, like mud, sand, rocks, dense undergrowth, a small pond or three.

And lets not forget the ever present pudding rain.

When they finally reached the end of the walking trail, she turned around to face the class.

"Dismissed."

[ooc: OCD threads a-coming are up.

"I don't have any shoes on," she said sadly and her feet went squelch, squelch, swooop as they walked on. "The duck pond is made of coffee now."

"That's either really disturbing or a really good promotion by the coffee shop in town. I think I'm going to go with the last one." Sam grumbled lightly as he stepped in another puddle. "Just think, if you had shoes on right now, they'd be really messed up."

The silence that ensued had a distinct flavour of soulpain horror to it. Buffy stared at the ground with wide eyes, imagining what it could have done to her precious shoes. It didn't bear thinking about.

Judging from the look of soulpain horror, Sam figured that had been the wrong thing to say. He was still thinking about how to fix it when they came upon a particularly rocky and sandy bit. "Oh hey, be careful here," he said, reaching out to grab Buffy's hand.

Buffy happily let him help her. It also distracted her from shoe-woes, so it was a good thing all around. She seemed very reluctant to let go of his hand once they were past the rocky bit.

"Saturday's gonna be fun, huh?"
likethegun: (i'm laughing while looking down)

Sam didn't seem to want to let go of Buffy's hand either. After all, who knew what kind of terrain they might come up to next?

"I think it will be, yeah," he said, smiling shyly.

"Do you think we have to, like, book a table in advance or something?" Buffy worried her lip. She didn't want the date to be cut short by silly things like that. It was important to be prepared.
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

"I'm not sure, but I can call and ask." That seemed like a guy responsibility. "I really want to make sure I do this right," he admitted.

Buffy smiled and made their hands swing. "As long as it's just you and me, I'll be happy. omgnotdirty! I'm sure it'll be totally perfect."
likethegun: (i'm grinning in black and white)

Totally perfect? Oh yeah, no pressure there.

"I don't know if we'll be the only people in the restaurant, but I certainly don't plan on bringing anyone else. I'm not into that sort of thing! The present company will be more than enough."

Buffy beamed again. Sam was such a sweetie!

"Maybe later we can invite Dean and Dawn? If they want to?" she suggested. "I mean, it could be fun? Maybe?"
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

The thought of going out on a date and watching Dean and Dawn be cute together didn't exactly sit well with Sam. But he got the feeling he'd be the only one out of the four of them who felt that way.

"Yeah, that could be fun," he agreed. "It's kind of weird how this worked out with you and me, and Dean and Dawn, huh?"

"It kind of is," Buffy agreed. She pondered for a moment. "Talking to Dean is kind of weird, because he looks like Alec, but he's totally not. D'you think there's anyone out there who looks like you?"
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

"Actually, I think there is," Sam replied, holding onto Buffy's hand a little tighter as they went through more mud. "Rory Gilmore said that her ex-boyfriend looks just like me. Funny enough, his name is Dean."

[identity profile] 1ordinarygirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Seriously?" Buffy blinked. She didn't mind the tighter hold at all. It even nearly made her forget about the mud and the pudding and the rocks. "That's... a little weird."
likethegun: (i'm grinning in black and white)

Sam nodded. "It's very weird. She saw me on the first day here and called me Dean and I just kind of went with it because I've been called Dean lots of times by old friends of my dad's who can't remember which one of us is which." He smirked. "But I'm pretty sure that I'm better than Rory's Dean, just like Dean is better than Alec."

"Nu-uh," Buffy shook her head. "Alec is totally better. He's got kitty bits in him and he's super fast. Dean is good with bow and arrows though," she allowed. She was too nice to add that Dean was maybe a little slow. Sam probably wouldn't like it if she pointed it out.
likethegun: (i'm sticking my tongue out)

"Kitty bits don't make up for the fact that he's a grade A slut," Sam pointed out. "And Dean is good with a lot more than bows and arrows." He wasn't quite sure how he'd ended up defending Dean so highly, but it felt right in this situation.

Buffy paused in the middle of a puddle. She looked a little disturbed. "...I don't think that bit is kitty-like..."
