Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, Saturday, All Day

It always felt like a bit of a stretch to call an event in January a "picnic," and the weather today wasn't helping with how seasonably cold it was outside. Thankfully, there was plenty of warm food to keep everyone toasty, along with as many carafes as The Perk would offer, filled with hot water for tea, light and dark roast coffee, and hot chocolate.

It was time to welcome in another new semester, everyone!

"I...have no idea," Arden admitted, a little reluctantly. "I was homeschooled--" by non-humans "--and my general knowledge is a little spotty."

"How about the Avengers?" Riri asked, maybe a little too hopeful.

"That's the team Captain Rogers and Professor Stark - the rich one - are part of, right?" Arden said. "They told us about it during paintball."

"Yeah, they're both kind of famous back home," Riri said with a sigh and the most 'oh god, don't get their attention on me' look possible.

It was weird. It was so weird.

So, was that a no on Riri joining them for Paintball this summer? Missing out!

"Yeah, my friend Kamala is kinda obsessed with them," Arden said. "Got their autographs like first thing."

"Yeah?" Oh, it was nice to hear there was someone who knew and wasn't a teacher. "I, uh, I might have retro-engineered his armor."

She said that last bit real fast because everything had happened back home and she was almost certain Stark had no idea about it when he was still alive. Right? Had to be.
