Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, Saturday, All Day

It always felt like a bit of a stretch to call an event in January a "picnic," and the weather today wasn't helping with how seasonably cold it was outside. Thankfully, there was plenty of warm food to keep everyone toasty, along with as many carafes as The Perk would offer, filled with hot water for tea, light and dark roast coffee, and hot chocolate.

It was time to welcome in another new semester, everyone!

Kitty had signed up to teach one class. Kitty had found out today that she was teaching a second class. About glitter.

So uhhh she was happy to talk to people especially if they had ideas on what to do for that.

"Kitty!" Tony was not an arts and crafts person, but he knew how to make a glitter bomb, did that help?

"Tony! I got saddled with an extra class!"

The glitter bomb was a gimme.

"An extra class?"

"Yeah. I had one. It's going to be fun. I worked really hard on it," she said. "I've also been assigned glitter."

"...that's a topic," Tony said after a moment. "That is very much A Topic."

"Do you have any ideas?" she asked. "I have no clue how to do a semi-serious syllabus for this."

"Glitter bombs?" Look, that was his best suggestion here.

"Of course. I'm now an agent of chaos whether I like it or not," she said.

"Something with the squirrels?" he ventured. "That could be a thing, right?"

"I'll have to think about that," she said. "It'd probably make the squirrels hate me, but..."

She shrugged. Probably wouldn't be the first time.

"Rum fixes that," Tony replied solemnly. "They hardly even try to bite me anymore after I hunted them as a cat."

"They sort had to have had that happen before," Kitty said. "Most people turn into cats."

A normal thing to say.

"It's pretty common," Tony agreed. "Maybe the island attracts cat people."

"That'd be weird," she decided.

"No weirder than a moose assigning you glitter," Tony replied.

"It feels weirder than a moose assigning me glitter," Kitty argued.

"It's definitely on the same level of weirdness," he insisted.

"One can still be weirder," she said.
