Photography Workshop - Wednesday Morning [6/7]

Veronica was sitting on the desk in the front of the journalism room, sipping a cup of coffee and waiting for her students to arrive.

She noticed that Cameron's bruises appeared to be fading, but her eyes widened when Bel walked in, limping slightly and bruised. That was definitely a cause for concern, but as the others filed in, she realized she had other things to take care of first.

"Good morning," she greeted everyone. "We're going to head straight in to the darkroom this morning, so no coffee or pastries yet."

After they were done in the darkroom, she gave them a few minute break to wash their hands and get food if they desired.

"Today we're going to talk about the composition of photos," she said, giving them a handout that explained the Rule of Thirds in detail. She gave a brief and *handwavy* lecture about the subject.

"I have a few things to tell you about that aren't on the syllabus," Veronica told them. "First, Anakin Skywalker, who's teaching a Flight & Flying seminar, and I, have arranged a field trip for our workshops to Washington, DC next Sunday. It's an all day thing, we'll be leaving the island early in the morning and returning late in the evening. It's not required that you attend, but it will give you an opportunity to take photos of more than just Fandom."

She smiled and started passing out another handout with *handwavy* submission guidelines. "Additionally, there is going to be a Student Art Fair next Friday and I'd like you to all keep that in mind this week as you're taking photos because I'd like you all to submit something. It can be a photo you've taken already or something you take this week. And it doesn't need to be a photo based on one of the prompts. Your list for this week is: Berries, Bird, and Air. You can spend the rest of the workshop time brainstorming ideas for either those or the Art Fair. If you have any questions, let me know."

She paused, biting her lip for a brief moment, before adding, "Bel, please stay after class."

[ooc: watch for submission guidelines for the art fair to be posted by the admins. it's not a requirement for your character to submit something, but it could be fun. likewise, the field trip is not a requirement, but please comment here and let me know if you're going or not by Friday.]

"What happened?"

"What do you mean?" Bel said evasively.

Veronica looked pointedly at his bruised face. "What happened?" she repeated.

"Oh, that?" Bel said. "Just some sparring. Tyler got a few good shots in."

"Tyler?" Veronica asked, recalling that he was also the one responsible for Cameron's bruises. She frowned and tilted her head, considering that.

"You've met him?" Bel asked. He absently rubbed his jaw.

"No, I haven't," Veronica said. "But he was also responsible for Cameron's bruises."

She gave Bel a quizzical look. "They were sparring the other day and things got a little out of hand, according to Cam."

"I knew what I was getting into," Bel said. "We went off into the woods to get away from the cameras so we could do no holds barred. I wanted to test him out, see what he was made of. Something about him bothers me. He's dangerous."

Veronica nodded. "Considering he's left bruises on two of my friends this week, I'd agree with that assessment. Maybe I'll do some digging around about his background, see if I can find anything."

Bel nodded. "Good idea. But be careful -- like I said, he's dangerous. He freaked Willow out the other day, that's why I was checking up on him. I'm gonna still keep an eye on him myself."

"What did he do to freak Willow out?" Veronica asked, grabbing a tablet and jotting down a few notes.

"She ran into him in the woods," Bel explained. "He was blowing up a computer or something. She said he made her feel really uncomfortable, which, you know, understandable, because someone playing with explosives, particularly after blowing up a kitchen...."

"Oh, right, that was him that nearly blew up a common room, wasn't it?" Veronica recalled, jotting down more notes.

"I guess at some point I should talk to Willow," she added. "I'd like to knock some sense into her."

"Don't knock too hard, she's under my protection," Bel said.

Veronica tilted her head. "Did I tell you that Phoebe came to talk to me the other night?"

"She did?" Bel said. "What about?"

"She wanted to know if I was sleeping with you."

"What?!" Bel exclaimed. "What did you tell her?"

"I told her it's been going on for several months and that we were really surprised she didn't figure it out sooner," Veronica replied, rolling her eyes.

"What do you think I told her?"

"There's nothing going on!" Bel said. He may have flailed.

Veronica facepalmed.

"I know that, you moron! I think I'd remember if there was. But thanks to your little friend Willow and her little friend Marie with their radio antics, I got questioned by Phoebe and Piper."

"They didn't believe that stuff, did they?" Bel said. "Half of what the radio says is just gossip and inuendo!"

"I don't know if they really believed it, but they asked me about it," Veronica said.

"Then Phoebe cried because she thinks you don't trust her."

"What? Why does she think that?"

Veronica sighed. "She said she can tell something is bothering you, but you won't talk to her. But she knows you've been talking to me and other people and she thinks you don't trust her."

She paused. "I didn't tell her any of the stuff we talked about. I didn't think it was my place."
