Class was back on the actual beach again, where Isabela was looking particularly cheerful.

"The thing about the beach is that you can do almost anything there," she started, only for a hillock of sand to appear and some kind of...was it a ground hog? Or maybe a wombat? Some kind of large burrowing animal to emerge and hand her a sealed pamphlet before vanishing back under the earth.

Aphra leaned over to read the title of the pamphlet. "'Things you cannot not do while having fun on Fandom's beaches'," she read. "According to who?"

Isabela shrugged and broke the seal, the pamphlet immediately unfolding into many more pages than should even have fitted in there in the first place. After several long minutes of perusing the list and exchanging pointed commentary with each other, they finally paid attention tot he class again.

"Apparently the only thing you can do to have fun at the beach is to stand ten foot away and look respectfully at it from a distance," Isabela said finally.

Aphra pointed to a spot on one of the pages. "After you've gotten the beach's informed consent, in writing to look at it."

Isabela nodded very seriously, then shoved the pamphlet down the front of her shirt. "Good thing pirates aren't overly fond of rules. So just have fun on the beach your way."

It's not really a lecture so much as a series of comments about how that one doesn't even make sense.

For some inexplicable reason, Vi felt vaguely called out by this whole business. Weird that.

There's various moddable beach supplies for you to have beach fun, just make sure you're not fetishizing the beach/beach-goer relationship.

The main reason they haven't just tossed the rules away is that littering is wrong.

"Pirate?" Flint asked with a little smile.

"Pirate," Isabela replied, sketching out a bow with a doff of an imaginary hat. "Captain Isabela of the Felicisima Armada, at your service."

"Captain Flint of the Walrus," Flint said with a tiny smile. "A pleasure."

"It's always a delight to encounter a fellow traveller upon the waves," Isabela said. "Not many people here understand the pleasures of the sea."

"This is the longest I've stayed ashore since I first stood on a ship," Flint admitted. "I miss it."

"My ship is down at the docks," Isabela told him, because yeah, Flint got it. "I do find it's easier to stay when I know I could just sail away."

"Well, now that I know which ship is yours, I won't take it," Flint said with a little quirk to his mouth.

"You're far more gallant than the last fellow who took an interest in the Call," Isabela said, not remembering Barbossa fondly at all. "I'd be more than happy to give you a personal tour if you'd care for one."

Well. Pirate. Flint just preferred the Walrus.

"I would like one very much," Flint said.

It was still unbelievably rude to try and steal a girl's ship without even a hello.

Isabela beamed at him. "Then we'll see what wee can do."
