As the students approached, they should see a number of boats, oars, and, of course, the bright orange PFDs.

"Good morning, everyone," Jarod said as he looked warily up at the sky, which was very cloudy. "Assuming the weather holds, today we'll be canoeing."

"First are the parts of the boat," Jarod said, as he pointed them out. "Next, there are several strokes," he said, demonstrating, "paddling a canoe should feel very different to you from paddling a kayak. First, you have to put one hand on the butt and the other on the shaft, and you should keep your hands in the same position, instead of twisting your wrists like you did last week."

"Finally, you choose your paddle by putting the butt on your foot. The height of the blade of the paddle should be between your eyes and your nose. So!" He smiled brightly, "go forth and paddle, but if there's thunder, be prepared to come back in."

[ooc: Assuming everyone shows up, we have an odd number of students in the class, so Jarod'll canoe with the last person to sign in--solo canoeing is a completely different activity and requires a lot more expertise.]

He kissed the top of her head. "Can I ask what the fight was about?"

"You can ask." Jarod's way too pretty to die from the fallout of what he'd try to do if he knew the whole truth. "Part of it is a thing with Logan, which I can't get into. He'd hate me for it. Rory and I had a difference of opinion on her boyfriend, because Anakin and I are vehemently disagreeing on something that should be philosophical. It ended up getting insulting on both our parts. Rory felt like she had to take Anakin's side." And yeah, that still hurts.

He winced. "Would you take my side, even if I was wrong?" Jarod paused, then said, "It could happen. Theoretically."

She'd like to give an unqualified yes. But this week has hurt too much. "Theoretically. Riiiight. For anything less than life and death-- maybe. Except I'd be trying to talk you down and whap you into sense when no one was looking." Another kiss, then she cocked an eyebrow at him. "To anyone else, I'm always on your side. Between the two of us? No quarter."

Really, Jarod hadn't expected any other answer from Parker. "But you blame Rory for making the same decision?"

Parker bit her lower lip, and looked away. "There were other issues---" She sighed. "Why must you use logic to defeat me? It's evil. I've told you this before."

"I know," he said, patting her on the shoulder. "You should try to make up with your friend, Parker."

"Maybe," Parker grumbled. "Although I still want to push Anakin into a volcano. Come to the luau. If they have one, you may get to watch."

"No volcano pushing," he said immediately.

Parker made a face. "Fine. Be a good example just because you're teaching. I'll stick to wishful and probably evil thinking." And all the usual precautions. She handed him the paddles from her canoe, and gave him another kiss when he had his hands full. "See you later."

He kissed her back. "Nothing wrong with thinking and thank you for not hitting me with the paddles."
