"If you ignore the cuddling," Tyler said. The gnome had apparently finished the spinach and was climbing back onto Tyler's shoulder, where he sighed and took a seat.

He grimaced at Nadia. "Want it?"

"That's okay, I think it's already pretty attached to you. Maybe they're like cats. You don't choose it, it chooses you."

Tyler glared at Nadia. "I hope you're wrong. I'm already stuck with a cat and I think she thinks the gnomes, or whatever they are, are food."

"She'll probably get over that. When the weetiny bunnies showed up, my cat kept trying to eat them, but would just end up with them hugging his fur."

Tyler gestured for emphasis, jabbing his fork at Nadia. "That is weird."

He took another bite of cake, ignoring the gnome for the moment. "Did the pictures of me come out?"

"Some of them did." Nadia grinned. "I could see if I could make you copies, if you want. Veronica said that they were certainly the most creative."

"I thought it was a good idea," Tyler nodded. "Took about half a bottle of shampoo to get the mud out of my hair, but so what. I'd love a copy if it's not a problem."

The gnome, apparently very full from his meal, had curled up on Tyler's shoulder and was beginning to nap.

Which was just about the cutest thing, ever. "Sure. I'll ask Veronica about getting some extra time in the darkroom so I can develop more copies. Thanks again for doing that, by the way. Just shows there are some stinkbugs with some sense, after all."

"It was nothing, but you still owe me one, rodent-girl," Tyler reminded her. "Be nice."

Nadia shrugged. "That was nice. I said you were smart. And I know I owe you.'

"But you defaced the noble name of the Stickbug," Tyler pointed out. "And insulted my Stickbug brothers by implying the don't have sense."

Nadia shrugged. "They didn't roll around in the mud for my workshop assignment. John actually refused to do so."

"Maybe John thought Aeryn would be jealous," Tyler shrugged, finishing the last of his cake.

"That did seem to be why he was refusing to kiss boys,"

Tyler raised an eyebrow. "Was it Jack Harkness's idea?"

"Not as far as I know. But John said the left side of his brain is gay. It was an odd conversation."

"I think every guy in this school us at least half gay," Tyler answered seriously.

He stood, and the gnome braced itself on his shoulder. "I should get to sex ed. I;'m sure it'll be tons of fun for the little guy."

Nadia had . . . absolutely no idea whether the idea of the gnome enjoying sex ed was really funny or really really disturbing. So she kind of just nodded. "Okay."
