"Hello and welcome back," Steve said with a bright smile. "Since the traps and the paint buckets were fun to put up, we're using those again, but today we aren't allowing any powers. And we're not giving you guns, either. They've been hidden around the course."

"It's a Rambo sort of day," Tony added. "I'm sure everyone will do great."

"And remember, this is just for fun. There's not need to go full zombie apocalypse about this." McGarrett.

Put on the protection gear. Maybe do some trash talking.

Coming in hot and fresh from her morning workout, Summer was feeling inspired (and, yes, that meant exactly what you might fear it did) and ready to shoot people with paint in a game taken way more seriously than it had any right to.

And it was her birthday week, so she was feeling good about her chances of climbing up from her middling performance so far today.

After all, it was high time for a new redheaded top dog, right?

As Arden said on her radio broadcast, she was feeling good. Confident. It was her day today, she could tell.

And the reigning champ is knocked down a single rank!

Sneaky was something Summer could do well when she set her mind to it, and it probably helped that she was set on holding weapons when she could.

It was her birthday week, it was only right.

And she and her trove of guns and ammunition were not going to show any mercy.

Just because it was Summer's birthday week didn't mean Cal was going to roll over. He had a championship to defend and a paintball with her name on it. She could think of it like a birthday present if he snuck up close enough.

And as the numbers were starting to dwindle, Summer found her vigilance increasing, her heart pounding more quickly, as she realized that, shit, she might actually pull this off. And knowing Cal was still in the running (of course), her priorities also shifted. She kept moving, kept her eyes scanning the playing field for that shock of red hair that could also, potentially, be her own downfall, and--

"Ha," she snorted to herself as she spotted what she was looking for starting to sneak, "there you are, you gonger jerk."

And now she was not hesitating at all to unload a series of shots his way.

The teachers could tell them not to use powers all they wanted, but he couldn't just turn off his senses. He managed to dodge the shots, but Summer got closer than he was comfortable with--not that he was about to let that show.

"Hey, be careful! One of those could have hit me!" he called out as he returned fire. Cal was going to get dogpiled one of these days, and he would only have himself to blame.

"Yeah, that's the idea, smart ass!" Summer's report came flying out of her as she went flying down to the ground to dodge Cal's shot. Into a roll and coming up on a pivot on one knee to fire an arsenal of shots in Cal's direction.

And she didn't even need the Force, ya jabroni.

Arden was having absolutely no luck. How hard could it be to find a stupid paintball gun in this course? Everybody else had like three (or okay, maybe it just seemed that way).

But seriously, what the heck? This was supposed to be her day!

Stark bolted as soon as it was time. He could hole up for a bit and hopefully shoot at least one person.

He'd been better at this previous years...

Who weren't shocked at all by the outcome.

The heat is so annoying.
