Your teachers looked much less horrifically hungover this morning, so good job to Anakin and Ahsoka. "Good morning, everyone," Anakin began. "I trust your weekends were filled with brooding about your fathers or father-figures."

He'd been in Fandom a long time.

"Hopefully your homework helped distract from that," Ahsoka said with a dryness that made it clear she had not expected it to.

"Whoops," Anakin said, not looking or sounding sorry.

After Anakin had learnt his lesson from the quality of the things he was given for their homework (let's be real, he never would), Ahsoka continued, "Today's task will be helpful for those of you interested in a future in politics. Because it's going to be slightly less frustrating."

Anakin nodded. "Get all of the banana into the bottle," he said, pointing to the eight tables and the objects on them: a green wine bottle with a stopper attached with a combination lock, and a banana. "You cannot break the bottle. The bottle cannot leave the table. The fastest person to get all of the banana into the bottle wins."

The banana, they didn't mention, was frozen, and the bottle was filled with Jello. Good thing there was a closet filled with moddable objects on the other side of the classroom, right?

"Your time starts now."

Eleanor wasn't in a great mood this Monday; Father's Day, even if it wasn't really something you ever really celebrated, rubbed a different way when you were responsible for your father getting killed and for your grandfather getting stuck as a wolf. But she was pretty proud of what she brought in, especially as neither a middle-aged man or even a person from thie century.

"It's a wireless phone charger," she explained, and then immediately doubted herself because it wouldn't be very useful outside of the context of having a phone, but most people here....

As a fellow middle-aged man, Steve felt very qualified for this!

"I brought you a little neck lamp so you can read while you're partner is sleeping."

That was a very old person gift, Steve.

How is this like politics? It's also an exercise in doing something that isn't working at all!

The banana is frozen, the bottle is locked with a lock (though that can be twisted off OR you can find the combination on the bottom of the bottle), but there are a variety of tools in the closet you can mod: (think food processor, vacuum, wooden spoon, microwave, bottles of water, electric kettle, etc.)

The bottles cannot leave the tables.

Eleanor really was wondering what this might have to do with politics, but she was also thinking that her experience in getting ingredients into bottles with her apothecary would come in handy here, at least.

If anything, she was actually really glad for the distracting challenge to put her focus into , frustrating as it was dealing with that lock and what would essentially end up a banana puree.

Had Steve shoved that banana down his pants to defrost? Yes. Was he almost instantly regretting that choice? Also yes.

He tugged on the lock and made a pleased noise as it lifted off, peered inside and noticed the Jello. "You are really annoying," he told the teachers, heading for the closet and returning with bottled water and the electric kettle to heat it up with.

And that led to needing another trip to find something to put the re-melted Jello into, and then another other trip to get a rolling pin to squash the semi-thawed banana with.

There was a plan! It was just not a very quick plan.

"Next week, bring us the best thing you've taken from someone else's home!" Anakin said.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" is a question that can never be answered.
