The Art of Breakfast, Thursday, Period 4

"Okay, guys," Raiden said, "today we're gonna make breakfast cake!" Because he was tired of his brothers arguing about it in the group chat. "And this weekend I'm gonna go home and make my brothers breakfast cake." So they would shut up already.

"Now, this recipe isn't really written down, it's just in my head, so follow along and write it down if you want to, okay?" Raiden proceeded through demonstrating how to make a blueberry-studded coffee cake with a cinnamon streusel: the fabled 'breakfast cake.' If you followed his directions, it would turn out fantastic. "Now you just bake it in the oven at 350 until it's golden brown and delicious and a toothpick comes out clean, and ta-da! Cake for breakfast. It's great with coffee, and allegedly also with tea. I'm sure you could substitute other berries or whatever. Any questions, or do we all just want to get straight to eating cake?"

Arden was just going to keep glancing at her phone, waiting for the inevitable explosion when it came out that Raiden had given away the recipe for breakfast cake.

Gray slid his phone out of his pocket and was telepathically told to, Put your phone away, Smalls, so it might be a few minutes before he got an opening to stir shit stir shit.

Of course, Boc was going to be incredibly nervous about not being able to follow the instructions well enough, but it was actually easier for him to just listen to them and follow along. And, really, the making of batters and such he was fairly good at; sewing, too, required a very measured and precise hand, and baking....well, sticking something in an oven for a bit was far less nerve-wracking than actually cooking something on a stove, so he might even feel....somewhat confident? In how it might turn out? Maybe he'd even have some to share with Luma at the shop later; he had a feeling she might like that.

(And her being fed with other things lessened the chances that she might want to eat him one of these days, too!)
