Philosophy of Food, 3rd period
The Danger Shop this week had been programmed in two halves - on one side, there was a formal dining room with fine china and silver. On the other, a neat blanket was spread out over grass, with a well-crafted wicker basket in the middle. The dishes there were sturdier and the silverware plainer.
Hannibal stood at a table between the two halves in a lovely summer suit.
He straightened up and nodded at the students. "This week, we're not talking about food; we're talking about how other things relate to food." He waved between the two halves of the classroom. "What sorts of food does each of these settings demand? What sorts of conversation and manners? What culture do you expect of each?"
He gestured at the table behind him, which held all the food. "Take some food, and sit where you like to eat it; move between the two, if you like. But think about this - when you choose your food and seat, is it only because of taste? Or is there a reason you prefer one over the other? What behavior do you feel is warranted in each place? What is most appropriate and most comfortable? Let us discuss it."

But in the meantime, he would listen, perhaps, for cues, or see if he could discern a little more from whatever types of food he could discern in the air.
Re: Class activity
He grinned over at Iggy and gave a wink Nell's way.
"Everyone knows fresh air makes food taste better."
Re: Listen to the lecture
I copy-and-pasted this from last class. To your right is a formal dining table set for a meal of at least four courses. To your left is a picnic setting, with a blanket on grass. Would you like me to go over the foods, or will your own nose tell you what they are?"Re: Listen to the lecture
(No. Not Gladio).
"Ah," he said with new understanding. "The distinction, then, reveals itself quite neatly. And I believe I can work my way through the offerings well enough from there, thank you, especially now with the proper framing."
Re: Listen to the lecture
"You're quite welcome."

presumably eventuallyLiliana, with a gesture to invite her to lead the way, "to decide which to preference in this instances. Though I will be inclined to mention that it is very probable that our esteemed instructor has done us all the courtesy to skip coding mosquitoes into the simulation today."Re: Class activity
