Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Good weather had fallen over Fandom this morning, so the picnic conditions were looking fantastic. The bonfire was there for good measure, along with the makings of s'mores, because it was almost truly summer, right?

There was plenty of food, and there were tables and chairs set up all across the lawn with varying degrees of glitter stuck to them. Everything was ready for another welcome picnic!

Gladio had arrived with a shirt on, but it was only a matter of time, right, before it somehow went missing? The real question was just what the hold up was.

But beshirted or otherwise, he was here to eat and chat it up with familiar faves, maybe some new ones, and definitely hit up that campfire and those s'mores.

"Gladio," Liliana greeted. She hadn't seen him since before Innistrad and certainly not since a certain camping trip, so this might be interesting. "Have you had a chance to explain the limitations on what you mean by Cup Noodle™ being for everybody?"

Especially interesting ic she was choosing to come in like that. Gladio met that inquiry with a lift of his eyebrows.

"I might've," he said, "but I guess someone kind of undermined that lesson to make it so that, apparently, if you cry about it hard enough, they are."

Well, it was that or express her appreciation for his continued shirtedness and if there was a faster way to convince him to lose it, she didn't know what it was.

"Cry about it hard enough and find someone in a particularly indulgent mood," she said, lips twitching. "One is significantly easier than the other."

She wasn't wrong there.

"Yeah," Gladio grunted faintly, "because if there's one thing that kid's definitely lacking in, it's people willing to indulge her..."

He then sighed, taking a moment to rub out a muscle he could feel tensing in his neck, and grunted again.

"But how you been, Lils? Enjoying a few nice, quiet weeks for a change?"

An eyebrow arched. "Indeed," she returned. "I vastly prefer quiet weeks, left to my own devices, humors, and entertainments. I was sorely aggrieved to have been pulled into the last bit of unquiet."

Please, Gladio. Which one of the two of them did you think was gung ho about saving people?

Yeah, but which one had the estate in the Big Gothic Horror Plane in the first place? And how about all those other times Ignis had to skip out on training for a week on account of having almost been killed for one reason or another?

"Yeah," Gladio said, after grunting, faintly, again. "This one sounded like a real doozy, too. I'm almost disappointed I didn't get a chance to get dragged into this one this time, too."

He honestly would have preferred to have been able to help, but not nearly as much as he preferred for it to have not happened, you know, at all.

Well, if Ignis had just done what she'd suggested, they wouldn't have had to worry about Big Gothic Horror Plane ever again, but nooOOooOoOOOooo.

"Oh, it was thoroughly unpleasant, I assure you," Liliana said, wrinkling her nose. "I'm sure Ignis had a delightful time filling you in about Jace."
