Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2025, Early Saturday Evening

It had been a strangely quiet break week, and so Anakin was looking very suspicious as he climbed up on the stage in the center of the school lawn while dusk fell.

The blue and yellow lights were around, the gremlin choir was singing whether anyone had invited them or not, and Anakin's lightsaber was prominantly strapped to his waist. You know, just in case.

Welcome to Fandom's 20th graduation! He didn't know how that had happened, either.

Oh, like Arden wasn't going to be here! She was here and loud and with a handmade sign to hold up every time somebody walked across the stage.

Liliana wasn't teaching this semester and really had every reason to sit this out, but she remembered last year and the weird man who had crashed graduation. Sure, none of the students had been hurt but still.

Listen, she had some weird instincts about school and safety and Strixhaven and shut up, okay?

At the appropriate moment, there was Pomp and Circumstance, because even this place followed some normal traditions. It was time for the soon-to-be-graduates to make the last adjustments to their blue and gold robes, and get to walking to their seats!

Gray couldn't believe he was graduating! From high school! Like a real human boy or whatever! This was so cool and exciting aaaannd he was falling asleep in the middle of the aisle about three feet away from his seat.

Pretty much no one, except maybe Allie was going to believe that Charlie had graduated. Hell, she hardly believed it herself. But she was here and grinning from ear to ear.

Because there's always a speech or two at these things.

Zoe smiled as she made her way up to the podium, enjoying the calm before whatever insanity inevitably happened.

"This is always a difficult time of year. On one hand, it's nice to see the graduating class growing up and becoming adults, ready to head out and make their worlds a better place. But there's a little sadness too at knowing that next week, or after the summer, they might be gone. I'm always grateful when old students come back to visit, or decide to come back to stay," she said. "To the families and friends out there, I hope you're proud of these folks. It hasn't been easy for them to get here, and I know the staff is proud of everything they've done."

Gray was still asleep when his name was called, sorry. Had anyone moved him out of the middle of the aisle? Would anyone be kind enough to collect his diploma for him? Maybe just...set it down on top of him or something?

Charlie made her way across, still grinning - not like that was anything new for her. "My Aunties are probably going to have this published in the paper."

Because it's never just a normal night. The toads that are falling range in size from tiny adorable poison frogs to, well, medium-sized dogs, so watch out! It's gonna get squishy and loud because these toads did not want to be falling from the sky, and now that it's dark, little aesthetic twinkle lights are not going to show you where all the toads have gone.

Gray woke up as a toad landed on, then jumped off, his face. "Huh, wha--oh, ew!"

Frogs and toads? At first Charlie found them amusing, if a little loud. It was easy enough to charm a little covering that would let them bounce harmlessly around her. But then they started getting bigger and angrier and that just wouldn't do.

With a sigh Charlie started charming them one-by-one into little rubber ducky toads. What? It was the quickest thing she could think of to change them into - something that wouldn't hurt them. But doing it one-by-one was going to take forever. If only she had her guitar with her instead of having left it back where she'd changed.

Well, it's a traditional ceremony for here. It might not go over so well with outsiders.

Liliana stayed until the frogs were handled and then whisked herself away. That was more than enough pomp and circumstance for her, thank you, and she had a book to read.
