Applied Dadaism: Fun and Games was held around the main campfire on Friday morning.

Artie stood poised on a trampoline, completely motionless until it was time to get the workshop started. "Greetings, campers! I hope you are having a very pipe time at camp so far! Welcome to Applied Dadaism! I am Artie! The strongest man . . . in the world and I will be your instructor for these next weeks."

He bounced down from his perch on the trampoline and struck a heroic pose in front of the campers. "You may ask ‘Artie? What is Dada?' And an excellent question that would be! Dada is nonsense! Richard Huelsenbeck once said that ‘everywhere, throughout the world, where forces are at work to turn back the wheel of history, Dada will be hated. Therefore it is not difficult to predict a great future for Dada.' Alas, he may have been wrong. For the forces of emo are strong throughout the world, now more than ever, and now, more than ever, is Dada important!"

He struck a different pose. "In this workshop, we will learn to apply Dada to our everyday lives through games and ridiculousness, to combat these forces of emo. We will make people ask questions. We will make people ask questions about why they are asking questions! We will, most importantly, have fun!"

He began walking back and forth. "At the end of the workshop, you will be asked to present a game of your creation to the group. This game will be based on the ideas and rulelessness you will learn throughout the workshop. But start thinking about it now, so that you will have a great game idea by the end of the session!"

He bounced back up on the trampoline. "But first! Introduce yourselves! Say your name and make a funny pose, a funny noise, a funny face! Then we will move on to our first game!"

Once the introductions are through with, Artie stands, arms in muscle man position, at the front of the group again. "Excellent! Now, we will play ‘rock, paper, scissors!' But be warned, you may not play only rock, paper, or scissors! You may play anything you can think of. For example!" He did jazz hands. "Nuclear fission! Pair up! (and make one group of three!) Play the game! Explain how your thing, such as nuclear fission, beats your partner's thing, such as molten lava! Have fun! I, Artie, the strongest man . . . in the world! will be here to answer any questions!"

"I'm Charlie, but I'll answer to Charlie, Kawalsky, Major K!, just K or Green-Hair-Guy. I think the hair is weird enough." It was green thanks to the Meerkats. He did a weird pose anyway.

"Yes," said Artie. "Your hair is very Dada! Good job!"

"My name is James Arthur Madrox," Jamie said, "Which means my monogram would be 'JAM'. Everyone just calls me Jamie."

~~"And for my goofy act today, I shall eat this rubber tire to the classic melody of 'The Flight of the Bumblebee'."~~

Jamie also did a weird pose.

~~Artie totally wished Jamie had gone for the bumblebee thing~~

"Pleasure to see you again, James Arthur Madrox! Your hair is also very Dada today! It's pipe to see everyone in such a silly spirit!"

"I'm Tyler Durden," Tyler said.

He held up his fingers and wiggled them. "Buttery," he said, in a monotone.

Artie shook his head. "You can do better than that, Tyler-Viking! Something totally original!" Artie struck a super pose. "And nice hair!"

"Thanks," Tyler said.

He wasn't sure what would be original enough, but he settled on doing the Macarena in reverse while hopping backwards. "How's that?"

"I'm Marie," she introduced herself.

Then she did an awkward pose that may have resembled something from Madonna's 'Vogue' video. She hoped that was weird enough.

"Not bad, girl, not bad. . . ." Artie nodded, noting that Marie, sadly, did not have Dada hair today.

"My name is Kaywinnit Lee Frye, but everyone calls me Kaylee," she said with a grin. She figured her full name was weird enough. Still, she decided to make a silly face just because she could.

"A pleasure to meet you, Kaywinnit Lee!" Artie said, noting that while Kaylee didn't have Dada hair, her name was pretty danged Dada. He approved.

"I'm Stark," said Stark. Then he posed. Weirdly.

"Welcome, Stark!" Artie said, nodding happily and very much approving of Starks fantastically Dada half-mask.

"My name is Walter cum Dornez," and the name had better be good enough, but for good measure, he made a weird~~er than the icon~~ face.

"Greetings, Walter cum Dornez!" Artie seemed to find nothing at all odd about the middle name. He did note, however, that Walter didn't have Dada hair, either.

"I'm Phoebe." She then did a cartwheel.

Artie nodded slowly. "Not bad, little viking . . . next time, think weirder!"

Phoebe grinned.

"When I get the cast off, I'll show up to class with my hair done up in tiny blue braids."

"I'm Timothy Desmond." tim said. He was slightly damp due to the fact that he had in fact, fallen asleep at the main campfire the night before and woken up covered in dew. Plus he had a weird sort of bed hair since his pillow had been a log.
He conveniently had his mini tape player cued up and he ~~manipulated~~ the speed so a high, chipmunk sounding voice sang out;

"WoeeverwoetothehouseofDesmond!"

"An interesting choice, Pete my boy!"

Tim decided it would be against the spirit of the workshop to correct him.

River just looked at Artie her head tilted. Weird? She found a pen in her pocket and walked up to Artie and tried to write his name on his forehead.

Artie allowed her to do this. "Nice work, girl. Now, what is your name?"

"River Tam," she replied, returning the pen to her pocket. "Nice to meeet you."
