“So,” he said to everyone gathered at the Portalocity office, “it’s the final class of the fall and since this class does not need an exam, we’ll just be taking another trip. Today we’ll be going to Texas to visit the Dr. Pepper Museum.”

That was why he’d invited a guest to join them today if she was able. Because Dr. Pepper.

“The museum has exhibits about the history of Dr. Pepper as well as the building itself. Plenty of things to look at and learn about before trying out some of the experiences. You can taste sodas, make sodas, and there’s even a ‘paranormal experience’ but that unfortunately won’t be possible to do today. It also has a soda fountain where everyone can get a beverage.” Included with the price of admission!

“So, unless someone needs ~~an extra hour~~ time in the ball pit before we go, it’s time to head to Texas.”

Rey was glad to be invited this week, but the Make-A-Soda thing in particular could maybe be a disaster to anyone else once she was done with it.

Would it be as bad as whatever Summer might make though? Could it be?

"Enjoying this so far? I'm glad you could come."

Nothing could top Summer there. Don't even try.

"Me too. Thank you for inviting me," she smiled. "It's a lot different than I expected!"

Maybe Rey had a talent that was as yet undiscovered!

"I thought of you when I saw this place existed," Stark said. "And it's different than I thought as well. I wasn't expecting the exhibit about the sit-ins. It's too bad we couldn't have done the paranormal experience."

"I don't know that I needed the paranormal associated with my drinks anyway," she said. "There anre enough other things to do."

"I like to see if there any real ghosts I can see for those," Stark said. "I didn't find any in Canada, on the last trip, when we did a ghost tour."

Maybe they'd been hiding or maybe there had been no ghosts. There was no way of knowing for certain.

"But this is good, what we get to do. Plenty of options and something for everyone, I think." If nothing else everyone got a soda! Who didn't want a nice free beverage?

"And even if not, it's easy enougb for them to pass the time," she said with a smile.

"Do you think you'll be able to do all you want to while you're here? Last week we went to the Jello Museum and it was very small but other weeks, like this, there's much more to see and do."

But it wasn't like he could not go there with Summer in the class.

"Are you going away next week?"

"Yeah, I'll be home," she said. "Not sure when I'll be back yet, but before New Year's. Are you staying around?"

"Summer and I are going home. My other home. To Moya. We're bringing them some Christmas. I'm not sure for how long. A few days, I think. It will be good to see everyone again."

And not wait years between visits. What a concept!

"That'll be fun," she said. "Has Summer been there yet?"

"We went in the spring," Stark said. "So she could meet everyone." Including Moya because Moya was important.

"It went well, mostly. I was worried but it went well."

No wars, no coups, nobody had been imprisoned, Noranti hadn't poisoned or drugged anyone. Sure, Summer had had a bit of a breakdown at the end looking at the stars but it wasn't like Stark hadn't cried like that on Moya plenty of times himself.

"Moya's a very good ship. You'd like her, I think. You could visit sometime, if you liked."
