Exploring American History, Wednesday, November 20, 2024
Portalocity was on its very best behavior this week, which meant there was no one to blame but your teachers for why you were at the Grand Canyon.
"Well," Steve said. "It's certainly majestic."
"And definitely there," Tony agreed. Look, they thought it'd be more. "Welcome to the Grand Canyon."
"It's the biggest canyon on the planet," Steve said, reading from his flashcard. If you thought Steve would read information from his phone, he has a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. His face brightened. "Oh! It was declared a national monument in 1908 by Teddy Roosevelt, a very famous president."
Tony was definitely reading off his phone, though. "Oh, and there's a museum to visit as well if you're interested in the geology of the park."
"Who wouldn't be interested in the geology?" Steve asked earnestly.
"And, yes, we made sure to find some local flavor for you all to try out," Tony added.
Learning about rocks was hungry work! "Don't get too close to the edge," Steve warned. "I don't think Tony packed his suit to go rescue you if you fall."

That wasn't stopping her from taking selfies, though. She wondered if it would break time somehow if she got one of those Instagram things...
