Dining Hall - 05/23/06

The kitchen staff have all called in sick today. So, a shiny food replicator has been rolled out to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has been preprogrammed for all Earth food and drinks.

Nadia came in with her backpack, her arm now wrapped in a removeable brace instead of a plaster cast. She walked up to the replicator.

"Grilled cheese sandwhich with tomato and bacon?"

*waaaaaaooom*

She blinked and picked up the sandwhich. Perfect. She grinned.

"8 potatos, wrapped in tin foil, two cans of refried beans, a can of chicken broth, two raw t-bone steaks, also wrapped in tin foil, 4 tomatos, wild rice, fresh peas in a plastic bag, a bottle of milk, a six pack of Guarana, and an ice cream sandwhich!"

*waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaooom*

Nadia loaded her groceries into her bag, grabbed one of the guaranas, her sandwhich, and her ice cream and went to join Pippi.

Nadia smiled, taking a bit of her grilled cheese. "Yep. But I was thinking. In Buenos Aires we used to always have to cook over an open fire. I thought I'd make some stew tonight for everyone, after my evening workshop."

"Oh it's been ages since I got good open fire stew..." Pippi said whistfully.

"... So, you're cooking for everyone then?" she ventured.

Nadia shrugged since the mun has no idea at what point she's going to talk to Pip. "Everyone who shows up. Wouldn't be fair, otherwise."

Pippi nodded.

"So..." She said, "Mr. Neilson would like to be the monkey representative on the side of raiding squirrels... If we need somebody particularly small and sneaky... Or possibly loud and distracting."

"That'd be great! We'll have to give him a code name, too. Not that we've picked any code names, yet."

"They're the most important part of any clandestine assignment. Without them, anyone might know who's involved if they can listen in."

"Why you're right!" Pippi said. "... But if they're listening in, won't they just see who's talking?"

Nadia thought about this. Marty had seen through the clever wig and glasses disguise . . . but then, Marty was no stranger to the field of covert operations.

"Wig and glasses . . . and maybe hats and fake accents."

"Hmmm, this is going to take some planning... When do we need all this by?"

"I don't know, we haven't set a date yet. . . . but we're only in the cabins this week, I think."

Nadia looked left, and then right. "You're right. I keep forgetting about that darned shrubbery."

"We may have to work fast or the mission will be compromised..." Pippi said with a shifty look at the window.

Nadia lowered her voice. "Definitely. We'll need to have a meeting somewhere private, and soon. Tonight."

"Perfect. Spread the word cladestinely. Tonight, after workshops."

"Right, you tell everybody else on our side of squirrel, and I'll get the A side... Do you think we should pull in potential allies or just keep this 'in the shadow of our own tail'?"

"For the time being, let's keep it to just squirrels. We know we can trust each other, at least. Should we need to, we can expand operations at a later date."
