This week the students need tables. Oh yess. On each table is a stack of magazines, Cosmo, Elle, Glamour, Lucky, YM, GQ, Maxim, and FHM.

Elle is wearing a bright pink suit with black trim. Her hair is pulled back and she is wearing pink framed glasses. She totally looks the part.

"Super, you're here. Ok. This is the image workshop, so before we can really begin, I need you to understand your style, as well as what style you aspire to. I brought in magazines and there are scissors and glue and tag board and markers. I'd like you to spend the first half of the workshop making a collage for yourself. Label things you like and hate, and make sure you add why. Is the shirt too short? The pants to tight? The suit too formal? All these things will help us get together to understand the do's and don'ts of what you are doing now with your appearance.

The second half of the afternoon will be taken up with dress up. I have my digital camera, so boys to the left and girls to the right. There are racks and racks of clothes kindly donated by the Delta Nu sorority and the Sigma Nu fraternity. I want you to try on at least three outfits and we'll add those to the collage next week once I get them printed out. And totally talk about color choices and fit and stuff. Have you ever watched "What you shouldn't dress yourself in?" Today is our own little mini-show.

By the end of the workshop you will understand why you dress the way you do, why others dress the way they do, and what to wear when. But the most important thing about any fashion is having the attitude to pull it off. I'm sure that's how those British ladies get away with some of those hats at weddings. What are those about, anyhow?"

James was rather enjoying himself, grabbing a few magazines from every walk of life he could find and cropping out pictures of anything from sleek school uniforms (http://pics.livejournal.com/rocketbitch/pic/00006rpd) to long jackets (http://pics.livejournal.com/rocketbitch/pic/00004wrq). Some clippings of note were perhaps the assorted advertisements, including such characters as Marie Antoinette (http://pics.livejournal.com/rocketbitch/pic/00002rhh), a sock puppet (http://pics.livejournal.com/rocketbitch/pic/000036xx) with a cigar, and Little Bo Peep (http://pics.livejournal.com/rocketbitch/pic/00005cfy).

Xander grabbed some magazines and started making his collage. His likes, strangely enough, gravitated towards greens. His dislikes? Purple. He kind of hated the Rock Porium uniforms.

James glanced over Xander's shoulder and watched him work on his collage, keeping an eye open for any outfits that were left behind that he would like to snatch up for himself.

Unfortunately, a good deal of his prospective dislikes ended up on Xander's 'likes' list.

He didn't say anything, perusing a similar magazine or two in order to hunt down the same outfits or something not unlike them to put onto his 'distasteful' portion of the collage.

And just because he wanted to do some justice to the outfits that he noticed Xander was discarding as bad fashion, James made a point to cut out the single most tasteful purple outfit (http://pics.livejournal.com/rocketbitch/pic/0000800k) that he could find in order to give it a place of honour on his collage, between Bo Peep and Ed the Sock.

"Let's try to shake up your color palatte. Shirts are so obvious, you can start small with accessories if you want."

Elle looked over James' shoulder to check his collage, but there were simply no words.

So she pointed. And maybe squeaked.

James took the pointing and maybe squeaking as a good sign.

So he pointed too. And maybe grinned.
