Gun Club, noon-through-afternoon, 5/20

Parker opened the Gun Club at noon, and made sure to post the usual rules.

The shooting range is open for your Gun Club needs.

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

"Bad mood," she clarifies. "Hadn't been back down here for a while. Thought I would make up for it."

Dean nodded and gestured towards her gun. "So is that the pulse gun you were telling me about?"

She nods. "Standard issue Peacekeeper pulse rifle. It has to be shot at a special target or it destroys the paper," she answers. And because she did say maybe, she asks, "Did you want to try it?"

Aeryn tries not to smile. Turning the gun so she can hand it over, she tells him, "That is your trigger. Just like any other weapon, without the kickback."

Dean took it with all the reverence such a weapon deserved. "It's lighter than I'd thought it would be," he commented, testing its grip, but keeping his finger well away from the trigger. "Which is the special target?"

Aeryn nods toward the metal, teflon-coated target. "That's the one."

Dean took his place at the firing line, raised the gun and squeezed off a couple quick shots, hitting the edge of the target. He frowned, focused, adjusted, and his next shot was closer to the center. "This is so cool."
