Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday, July 31, 2024
Did the world need a gremlin running around the park with a lit torch? Probably not, but he'd showed up with a lit torch and Anakin had chosen the path of not arguing about it. "Welcome to Fandom Olympics!" he announced instead through his--as always--completely unnecessary bullhorn. "The events you are participating in were chosen at random last night by five porgs spinning a wheel on which all Olympic events were listed. I am calling it the most modern pentathalon!"
If the pause was for applause, he'd be waiting a bit.
"Listen for your names! No powers!"

Re: Pommel Horse
Did honestly surprisingly well. Not great, by any margin, but it seemed as if this was not his first pommel horse before, taking him back, slightly, to some of his gym days and also, really, what was a pommel horse but some sort of elevated breakdancing anyway, if you approached it a certain way?
He absolutely did not stick the landing, though, stumbling a little over his own feet with an shrill little "ow!" and then straightening himself up with a stagger, a smoothing of his jacket, and pretending like nothing happened.
Re: Pommel Horse
It honestly wasn't even because he was on her team, but hey! Competence, woo!
Re: Pommel Horse
"Nothing to it," he declared, and then performed a series of gestures focused around a turn, ending in a dramatic popping of his collar before kicking out a heel to lead him into sauntering away to the next event....or at least watch some of the others take their turn.
Re: Pommel Horse
Was he secretly a gymnast?
Re: Pommel Horse
"A few years ago," he stated, almost defiantly, "I served a short stint as a gym rat, at the behest of a couple of dear...aquaintences..."
The pause, and the way both his head and his smirk quirked suggested that perhaps they were a bit more than just mere...aquaintances...
"And with my recently obtained musculature and upper body strength, combined with my already prolific penchant for breaking it down on the dancefloor, well!" He swept a hand out in front of him, as if inviting Arden to follow to the natural conclusion. "Put two and two together, and the pommel horse," he tossed his head back, but it didn't do much to shake his long locks in the way he wanted, so he brushed them back a little testily with a hand, "becomes an obvious choice."
Re: Pommel Horse
Re: Pommel Horse
"But yes," he then finally continued, "that is precisely a gym rat. Of course, even before then, I did often do quite a good deal...of business between my basement and the Basement....the Basement, eff why eye, was the local athletic facility..."
His eyes roamed over Arden again, more thoughtfully. "You hardly seem to be the...performance enhancing type, though."
Re: Pommel Horse
Thanks to about three months of yoga and some swimming. Though 'tone' and 'muscles' were vastly different.
Re: Pommel Horse
Well.
Jocktitude-adjacent.
Re: Pommel Horse
Now she was giving him a skeptical look and looking at his arms in his tracksuit. "Are you still ripped, shredded, and/or yolked?" she asked.
Re: Pommel Horse
"I don't know, Arden," Stewart said. "You tell me."
And that was how we all got Stewart stepping to have plenty of room to dramatically zip open his tracksuit jacket, turning as he shrugged it off, then twirling it over his head before tossing it aside. The black tank top underneath went through the same treatment until he was flexing demonstrably and lifting a brow that seemed to just challenge her not to be impressed.
The answer, as it was, was not quite as much as he was during his training, but he hasn't exactly been slacking off entirely since then, either.
Re: Pommel Horse
Not that she was thinking about weird words and etymology. Her eyes widened slightly as she really took in Stewart's physique and she couldn't help but flush. And glance away when she noticed she was, ah, appreciating his arms more than might be polite. "Ah. Well, okay then. Clearly yes. Good to know."
Was it, Finch? Was it?
Re: Pommel Horse
"I probably could stand to...tone up again, though..."
Re: Pommel Horse
"No, you're fine," she muttered. Did she think that? Or was that self-preservation? WHO COULD SAY.
