Photography Basics: Color - Monday, Second Period [06/24].
"Well," said Prompto, with a little bit of a grin as he sat on the desk at the front of the classroom as usual, his legs kicking out just a little bit, because someone still could never really manage to ever sit still, "it's our last class, and I hope you guys have really enjoyed going on this color journey through photography with me. I know I've really enjoyed seeing what you guys have brought to the table in this class. No lecture today, then, especially since there's not going to be any homework, but, after we've had a chance to look at everyone's purple photos from last week, I was thinking we could just hang out and talk photography. You guys can ask questions or if there's anything you want me to go over again or a little more in depth, we can do that. Or you can just head out and call it a day and enjoy the rest of your week. Whatever you want to do, really, nice and easy end to the class, you know?
"But before any of that," he said, "we've got pictures to look at! So who's going first for the last time?"

Did the club shots feature someone in particular? Obviously.
Class Activity: Whatever You Want! - Photography, 06/24.
Like it says on the tin, whatever you want to do for the rest of the class period, really!
Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
She was just going to stand there awkwardly, looking at her pictures because otherwise there would be eye contact and that was probably impossible.
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
"And sure! If you wanna still show 'em off, go for it! I bet the Everest shot is great! But, uh..." His head tilted, a touch of worry now on his face, "don't feel like you have to, either. No obligation. You're officially free," he tried a faint chuckle there, "from the tyranny of photography class."
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
"It's not tyrannical," Arden said. "I like art. And photography. It really helped me start noticing color when I looked around. I mean--" she flushed "--not like I didn't see color before but...like. It jumps out more now. I like that."
She takes out a few of the blue pictures, two of the promised views from Everest, one of the vista stretched out around them, just snow and rock and sky, and another, of tattered blue fabric surrounded by snow. She was hoping that was someone's discarded something, but she couldn't be sure. And it had felt important to take that one. Then pictures of her outfit for Eid, and one of Cal, and one of the ocean at night, black save for where the moon hit it just right, leaving a streak of silver-blue in the water.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do with all of these now that class is over," she explained. "So, I thought it would be nice to show someone before I..." She shrugged. "Do whatever."
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
"I should have brought albums for you guys, or something," he realized, watching Arden as she shifted through her photos, "for you to put them in. For the memories. For safe-keeping. It can be nice to go back and look at them all again sometimes..."
And then he held out his hand for the pictures. "Let's have a look."
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
She handed the pictures over. "Maybe I'll stop by the shop sometime and get one," she said. "Or some frames or something. I don't think Midnight will mind us hanging pictures up on the wall."
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
He was able to focus on looking at the photos enough to keep back the murmured remark that wanted to slip out of him, breathed out slowly, and then genuinely did pour his attention to shifting through them, looking them over.
The blue bit of something surrounded by snow,in particular, he lingered on quite a bit longer before continuing, and when he handed the photos back, it was with an attempted subtle sniff and a clearing of his throat that did absolutely nothing to actually keep the catch out of his voice.
"These....these are great, Arden," he managed to get put, and even with a smile! "How cool must it have been, shooting from Everest? You should definitely stop by the shop sometime. I'll hook you up with whatever going to work best for you, yeah?"
And then, he hesitated a moment. Because he knew how he looked and he knew how he sounded and he knew why Arden was just as awkward in this class as he was around her, so...
"And, hey," he added, more softly nod, and his smile more sincere, albeit it possibly even more sad, "I'm really sorry. About...well. I know I've probably been a little awkward in class. I really didn't...." He stopped, shook his head. "No excuses. I'm just really sorry, Arden."

Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
To be fair, that jerk did, you know, kidnap and torture him, and destroyed his hometown, and tried to end the world, and killed his best friend, though.
"And that's not fair to you. Especially when I'm your teacher, you know? And I've been trying, but obviously I need to do better, because I do like having you in my classes, but I don't want it to be a bad experience for you. No one wants that. But you're a good student, and you've got a great eye, and you're smart. Like, some of the things you've brought to class has been....so,so good, Arden. I'd love to keep having you in my classes."
The smile, a little easier, maybe even a little hopeful now.
"But I'd totally get it if you'd rather not. I wouldn't blame you at all. I'm not really sure I would, if I were in your spot. I'd be all..." He chuckled faintly, "'man, screw that guy! I don't need this!'"
He absolutely would never actually be able to do that, probably, but he felt it was important for Arden to know she definitely could
And probably should, honestly.
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
Mean, Professor. That would be mean.
"And, I mean, if you don't mind..." She gave him an awkward unsure-but-game smile. "Honestly, of all the reasons people have to be uncomfortable around me for something, yours is probably the best. And you and Professor Amicitia have been the nicest about it, anyway."
Like, yeah, maybe Professor Argentum was awkward around her, but at least he didn't want to murder her because she was some kind of weird genetic throwback or something!
"And I really did mean it if you wanted to call me Finch or Ms. Finch or whatever." It wasn't hers the way Arden was, but it was close enough and it wasn't like he was trying to rename her or something. "If it helps, it helps."
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
"No way," said Prompto, now with a little bit of vehemence and determination there on the shake of his head, now that some of that had been finally aired put in the open. And thinking back on some of thr things Gladio had
yelled attalked to him about. "That's just letting that guy win. And that guy's already taken so much from us; it's not right if we let him keep taking things from other people, too..."Unless that's what you'd prefer," he amended, looked over at Arden with a thoughtful heartily. "Thr last name thing works for Gladio...er, Professor Amicitia, because he's a military guy, you know? That's how they do things sometimes. But for me, it just feels stiff and impersonal." His nose wrinkled. "Not really my style. Or, at least, I wouldn't want it to be....y'know?"
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
Yeahhh...just really knocking it out of the park with this conversation.
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
...
Prompto's smile softened, as he lightly touched his wrists, where, even after all these years, he still wore the leather band to cover his barcodes.
"Well, then," he said, with conviction, "we're definitely not letting him take that away from you. Arden it is. Just, you know, go easy on me if I flinch a little when I say it sometimes. I've been working on it, though."
He'd been making a concentrated effort to say it without reacting to it in this whole conversation, even!
"....I was adopted, too," he then offered, the nod of his head sympathetic sort of nod, "so I...definitely get it."

Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
He smiled again, nodding. "That's absolutely what counts the most," he agreed, and he was tempted to leave it there, but he also felt like maybe it was doing them both a disservice to do that.
"And," he added, "if it helps any, mine was pretty heavy on the technicalities, too. So....I think I got you on that one, too.
"But," he then laughed a little, shaking a finger at her before folding his arms in front of him, "you can keep trying to get out of being related to all you want, it won't work! You're locked in. Us adopted kids gotta stick together."
Way to go, Arden, now Prompto had categorically decided to maybe adopt you.
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
"Oh, are, umm, you and Professor Amicitia and Professor Scientia all adopted together?" she asked. "I've heard you guys called brothers before."
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 06/24.
He grinned a little. "Just brothers in spirit," he said. "Although....Iggy...err, Professor Scientia, he lost his parents in the war pretty young, too, and sort of got adopted into the royal family, as, like, a companion to the prince. My adopted parents were pretty much just commoners. But, hey, remember how I mentioned my wife's got family in Jersey? That's adopted family, too, actually."
