Because learning was fun, wasn't it? Wasn't it? "Now, abjuration is a school that focuses more on avoiding the damaging effects of spells cast at you through shield, or banishment, or countering the spells before they can even be completed."
Nothing more annoying than a counterspell, folks. Just... takes the wind right out of your sails, so to speak.
"The most basic of these would be simple shield spell that can be cast as a reaction whilst in combat. As such, that will be our primary focus!"
