Photography Basics: Color - Monday, Second Period [06/03].
"Well, yellow, yellow," said Prompto, unable to help himself, because he was, after all, just a mere mortal and, even worse, a dad now, which just gae him licence to make terrible jokes like that with absolutely no shame or abandon, "I hope you've all had a good weekend and are ready to show off some of your shots for the yellow assignment, and then, surprise surprise, we'll be jumping into our next color: green!
"Who's up first this week?" he asked, with a grin around the room. "Let's see what you've got!"

No reason.
Though the one of herself in a gold shirt was pretty good, too.

Class Activity: Green! - Photography, 06/03.
So, naturally, he went to break down some of those things, especially as he went through the weekly cadre of great examples. No one was probably likely to get a shot like Carlos Alonso's Green Road, but he'd love to be proven wrong on that! Either way, it was too good of a shot not to show off, but something more like Asaf Ud Daula's Some people feel the rain, others just get wet was a good example of something more their level. Jan Mayer's Bali's Green is a good example of a stunning use of natural lighting, and he liked Morning Lake Dip from Matt Cannon for a good example of a landscape with a touch of the human element included.
And, of course, just a few great examples where the focus is clearly the green of is all: Jovanne Amolat's Dangerously beautiful green viper may give Prompto the willies personally, but it's hard to deny that it's a great shot, same with Anskar Lenzen's Green Frog. Or pops of green accents, like with Tom Franklin de Waart's Happy Kid or Bright Andoh's Luminous Souls. Or green as a background feature, like with Mitesh Patel's Owlet.
And Mikhail Derevyanov's From above was just included because Prompto really, really liked it.
Also, maybe an old selfie thrown in for good measure, too.
Thoughts, questions, and other topics of discussion around your potential green portfolio are, as always, very welcome!
