Arts & Crafts For Beginners [Thursday, Period Three]

Jane was giving the arts and crafts supplies a confused look as the class walked in today. Because this definitely wasn't the original plan, but the teachers could roll with it, right? Right!

"Welcome back," Jane said, powering on through it. "Some things have been a bit weird this week, we know."

"But that kind of thing doesn't tend to last long," Cara said with the confidence of someone who'd had the entire weirdness pass them by. "So the island should be back to a normal level of weirdness soon."

"In the meantime we'll be going with the flow and doing... fake tattoos. With glitter." Jane was just going with it.

"Because it's not enough that it gets everywhere, you're going to deliberately glue it to yourself." Cara sounded so enthused about this

Why were they all 90s themed? Weird.

Stewart was definitely going overboard in slathering himself in glittery skulls, smily faces, and hearts, and while his application to his arms was very liberal and haphazard, he seemed to take much more care when deciding which would be going on his face.

Because of course some were going on his face.

Okay, Kamala had put more than a few on her self but much less than Stewart.

"Do you want some on you back as well? Maybe a tramp stamp?" she joked.

Stewart had already been questioning whether his attempts recently to get (somewhat) (mostly) (marginally) more sober had all just been a drug-addled fever dream in and of itself.

And then the horse talked to him.

Sounding like Kamala.

He squinted.

"Mayhaps," he ventured cautiously, "in the more traditional sense of the word...as a wayward vagabond, a derelict, a vagrant scamp. Especially since wouldn't any other application only serve to....make it weird?"

Weirder than it already was at the moment, even.

"Yeah, yeah, we get you're into weird," Kamala said somehow holding a selection of tattoo templates with her hooves. "What do you want?"

"....not that weird," Stewart said, after another moment of squinting at the pony. "There are, for example, several logistical points to this proposal that I'd rather not have to delve into, starting with the fact that you appear to be...enigmatically equine at the moment..."

"I know! Ain't it cool?" Kamala said prancing around in a circle. "I'm totally badass as a pony."

"I'm hesitant to accept that 'badass' and 'pony that looks like she just trotted out of a Saturday morning cartoon' go hand-in-hoof as effectively as you claim," Stewart stated, but, despite himself, he could help a small smirk at the prancing. "But I will allow that it does seem...." The smirk quirked a little more, "cool.

"Why are you a pony, though? Is this some trick? Hallucination? Mass delusion? I'm starting to think there may be something in the water here..."

“I’m not a hallucination. I just woke up a horse,” Kamala said with a mane flip.

Kamala was perhaps a little enthusiastic with the glitter.

She had stars and lightning bolts all over her pony self.

"Those look great!" Gonzo enthused.

The result of trying to put temporary tattoos on his flocked, felty self was . . . less successful. At least he was glittery?

"Thank you!" Kamala said with a huge grin. "Can I help you with yours? Maybe you just need a thicker layer of glue."

"It's worth a try," Gonzo said, offering her a floppy fabric arm. "I just hope I don't end up feeling stiff."

"Oh! I have an idea," Kamala said digging through some craft supplies and found-

"Gaffer's tape? Ugh, it's not duct tape but it'll do. We'll cut the design out and glitter it up. Slap it on you and you'll have a temp tattoo!"

"Fantastic! I'll have to remember this for my next performance piece."

"Oh? What's that going to be?" Kamala asked. "Are you going to perform it at the house?"

"No idea," Gonzo said cheerfully. "The ideas usually just come to me. But I'll perform anywhere that wants to let me!"

"Oh you should totally do it in the house in the all purpose room," Kamala said trying to think it through. "We could have a house talent show."

"We should totally do that!" Gonzo agreed. "What talent would you want to show off?"

"Uhhhh. I guess I could draw something. Or dance," Kamala said with a shrug. "Though I'd feel less self-conscious if I did it in a group."

"Group numbers are great!" Gonzo said. "Maybe the flamingoes can help you out? I used to work with a chicken chorus all the time when I was on the Muppet Show."

“Okay, a chicken chorus line sounds adorable,” Kamala chuckled. “I need to see that in my life.”

"I bet I have some old tapes somewhere. Do you have a VCR?"

Gonzo. I know time means very little to you, but know your audience!

Who were very much not getting a real tattoo, thank you.
