Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day
Whoever worked the weather magic around here had done an excellent job to make sure things were nice outside for all the new (and old) residents of Fandom. It was warm and sunny, but not so humid that people would melt. There was plenty of moddable food and drinks, places to sit in the shade, and more than enough nametags to go around. It was time to celebrate the start of the summer!

Re: General Mingling
"That looks interesting."
Re: General Mingling
By this point, Senshi had finished cooking the more savory foods, washed his utensils and cookware, and had settled in to finish up with something sweet. He had a small cookpot over the fire now, heating up the fruits from the fruit salad with a bit of white sugar, and was currently mashing up a bunch of oatmeal cookies with his mortar and pestle.
"Thank you," he said, trying to guess this Tall-Man's age and failing. She was taller than some of what he was pretty sure were actual Tall-Man children, but that could be anything from older adolescent to middle age. The short-lived races were just hard to pin down that way. "I've got some Rolled Basilisk Omelettes and a few more Minced Beef and Skinny Sausage Larb in Lettuce Cups if you're hungry," he offered. "And I'm makin' a dessert, if you've got a sweet tooth."
Re: General Mingling
She saw Chopped sometimes, it took a lot of work to make things that sounded like that.

He finished smashing the oatmeal cookies together, and scooped the mash out of his mortar, and into the skillet with some more butter, covering the bottom of the pan and the sides as well. Then he switched the frying pan with the saucepot over the fire, giving the fruit in the pot a few last quick stirs, before pouring that into the oatmeal cookie crust to set and brown. "There," he grunted, adding a bit of the honey to it. "Something nice and sweet for dessert."
Preparation done, he turned back to Rey. "Senshi," he said, wiping his hand on a cloth before holding it out to her for a shake. "Nice to meet you."
Re: General Mingling
"Rey," she said, taking his hand to shake. "Enjoying the first day, then?"
Re: General Mingling
"It's been...surprisin'," is what he landed on. "Didn't expect to show up here, never mind show up here and find out I'm teachin' a class." He poked the fruit with a tasting spoon. Not yet sticky enough, okay.

Re: General Mingling
"What kinds of monsters?"
Re: General Mingling
"Oh you know," Senshi said, unaware Rey absolutely did not. "Walking mushrooms, giant scorpions, basilisks, Man-Eating Flowers, Treasure Bugs...all the normal monsters you find in a dungeon."
