Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Whoever worked the weather magic around here had done an excellent job to make sure things were nice outside for all the new (and old) residents of Fandom. It was warm and sunny, but not so humid that people would melt. There was plenty of moddable food and drinks, places to sit in the shade, and more than enough nametags to go around. It was time to celebrate the start of the summer!

"Yeah, and some upstairs neighbors," Cal said with a laugh. "The manor is just the right kind of weird, I'm glad more people are joining us. So, this is a thing that just happens sometimes?"

"Me as well," Steven said, not bothering to hide his happy smile at more residents joining them. "And do you mean the picnic? Yeah. Once every few months or so? This time it's for the new teachers and students, but other times it'll be for a holiday or the like. It's a nice excuse to get out and meet new people for certain."

Which was exactly why Cal was talking to Steven now, and not Marc.

"The picnic and new people arriving. It's pretty great that the town is so welcoming," he said. "Do you have any plans for the summer besides classes?"

"No classes for me this round," Steven said. "You? Going to avail yourself of any?"

"I... might have signed up for five," Cal admitted. "Everything just sounded so interesting, and I like to be busy."

"They can be very interesting," Steven assured him. "I had writing this past semester. What have you signed up for this go round?"

"Uh, paintball, yoga, visiting places around Earth, a class on magic, and Summer's cooking class which is mostly because it sounds like we're going to be making weird things and that sounds fun," Cal said. "Definitely all easier than anything I've studied in the past."

"That does sound like a lot," Steven said. "I've only done classes on being a superhero and writing. Yours sound like fun though. And the nice thing is that the summer classes don't last as long. Er - that's lower case S for Summer, not necessarily the classes run by Summer. Hers last as long as the session lasts, same as anyone."

"I figured that was what you meant," Cal said with a laugh. "Mostly, I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of weird things might happen next. I'm trying to tell myself it'll be things I can look back on and laugh, and not things that are frightening."
