Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Whoever worked the weather magic around here had done an excellent job to make sure things were nice outside for all the new (and old) residents of Fandom. It was warm and sunny, but not so humid that people would melt. There was plenty of moddable food and drinks, places to sit in the shade, and more than enough nametags to go around. It was time to celebrate the start of the summer!

Rose considered Miguel for a moment before she turned her attention back toward the picnic with a goading lift of her chin, before taking a sip of her coffee. "Go on," she said. "Take a guess. You didn't think I'd make it easy and just tell you, did you?"

Miguel shrugged. "Depends. Could be the kid who looks like he's an extra in a bargain version of meta for Clockwork Orange if you're hating pretentiousness, or could be the perky girl with the big eyes, if you're hating on happiness today."

"I do usually hate on happiness," Rosa allowed, willing to give him that one, especially since he did bring her a coffee, "but that's not really a shove in a locker kind of hate, that's more of a slow burn, methodically chip away at that unnerving faith in humanity kind of hate.

"Budget Fall Out Panic! at the Chemical Romance, however, has locker-stuffing written all over him, though."

"So who gets the wedgie?" Miguel asked. "Is that the perky girl? Or the short guy with the cooking?"

Which actually smelled pretty good, but it was weird to be doing it at the picnic.
