Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day
Whoever worked the weather magic around here had done an excellent job to make sure things were nice outside for all the new (and old) residents of Fandom. It was warm and sunny, but not so humid that people would melt. There was plenty of moddable food and drinks, places to sit in the shade, and more than enough nametags to go around. It was time to celebrate the start of the summer!

Re: General Mingling
She was trying, BD. She had your back. She was gonna start a trending hashtag and everything. #FreeBD
Re: General Mingling
"I don't lie!" BD-1 said, making another sad noise at Arden.
"Okay, fine, you can say hello to her, but don't run off."
Now you had a cute droid at your feet making an "uppie!" face at you, Arden. Well done!
Re: General Mingling
Re: General Mingling
BD-1 nodded and snuggled against Arden's chest, because it was a lovely place to be, thank you very much.
"Well, I'm glad you two are having a good moment." To Arden, he asked, "How's your picnic going?"
Re: General Mingling
"Aww," she said, giving BD-1 a soft cuddle and dropped a kiss on his tiny head. "You're so sweet, BD."
THIS COULD BE YOU CAL, BUT YOU PLAYIN'.
"Not bad," she said. "I met my new sibling, Stewart, and we yelled about capitalism some, and I met one of our two new neighbors, Kamala. I think she's on the other side of you? A freshman, and in our paintball class."
Where it would be the two of them against a herd of cops and Jedi. Even with powers, this seemed unfair.
"Otherwise, just mostly talking to folks. How about you? How goes yours? Did you talk to the new professor who's cooking food over there?" She pointed to a dwarf hunkered over an open fire. "He's giving out food, too."
Re: General Mingling
Cal was definitely looking forward to that class.
"I'm not surprised you've been busy socializing. Does it look like your parties will be well-attended?"
Re: General Mingling
"You know," she added, one hand on her hip, the other still cuddling BD. "You're getting real cocky about how you're gonna trounce folks at paintball." Because he was justly confident in his ability. "What's gonna happen if you're wrong and you're the one who gets...paintballed or whatever the proper verb is."
Besides the flying pig parade they'd be seeing and all.
And then her pretend offense melted away like it had never been, leaving the amusement he could already feel through the Force bubble up into a laugh. "And...maybe? I think so? Hope so, anyway. Though I don't know if I should be throwing another one so soon."
Would that be violating unspoken party law or something?
"But maybe something low-key in Midnight so we can meet the new folks..."
Re: General Mingling
Cal thought about the paintball class for a moment and grinned. "How about this? If you beat me at paintball, I'll buy you dinner wherever you want in town. If I beat you, you've got to buy me dinner."
A friend dinner! Based on a bet!
Re: General Mingling
"Oh, you're on," Arden declared. "I promise to go easy on your wallet when you're treating me to dinner."
She'd regret all this unjustified confidence come Monday, but for some reason, she felt like maybe she wouldn't mind the outcome, whatever it happened to be.
Probably she was just that much of a good sport about things. Must be it.
