Cancel class today? What? When you had this fucking unrelenting troll as your instructor??

You guys were so cute.

Class was being held in the danger shop today, though, and anyone who did make it in was actually getting a big grin and a bill of respect from Gladio....although the same could probably be said for anyone who was skipping class but putting it to good use. But that was neither here nor there, because welcome to your nice wintry landscape, everyone! There were jackets and coats, scarves and gloves to bundle up with, too, because the temperature had definitely dropped. And, behind him, a big old icy river meandered through the landscape.

"Bundle up everyone," he said, "and get read, because today? We're learning how to cross a river, especially if that river is freezing cold and icy! It'll be good for ya! And," he nodded a little bit of a concession, "when we're done here, well, all the more reason to find someone to go and get all warmed up with, right?"

And, after throwing them all a wink, he got started on a lecture about what to do in a situation like this that he was sure all of you were definitely paying perfect attention to, right?

But, hey, at least he had a shirt on.

Arden, who had finally gotten smacked in the face with pollen, was definitely looking at the icy river and nothing and no one else.

It's like the ultimate cold shower!

Seriously? Jon sighed.

Look, when you had no interest in that sort of thing anyway, all this meant was Jon was going to be very cold and look like a wet cat before he went home and tried to warm up under a blanket. Possibly with an actual cat.

But at least he was paying attention?

At least one of the times Arden fell in was of her own volition. At least

Nell rather liked the smug look on his face. She might have one of her own. And she'd discovered that she was more of a jealous person than she'd thought, so watch out everyone else. Gladio was not available.

Except to her.

"So," said Gladio, smug grin going absolutely no where, and, in fact, it had somehow managed to wrangle up even more smugness, "about that whole 'finding someone to go warm up with' part...."

"I am awful cold," Nell admitted. With her smug griin staying put as well.

"Important to keep warm," Gladio informed Nell, with a nod, and he was just going to go ahead and help with that immediately, moving up behind her and bending in as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in, "in situations like this. Body heat's a great way to do that, you know."

Nell was not about to complain. But...

"The indigenous peoples of North America say that the best way to get and stay warm is to be skin to skin." Such an innocent face!

About as innocent as that grin on Gladio's face.

"Oh, yeah?" he asked. "Is that so? Think we should try it?"

"I mean, it sounds as if it's only right to give it a try," Nell said. "And I do enjoy it when we're skin to skin..."

"Skin's really the only way to go," Gladio agreed. After all, his allergy to shirts was a well-known fact. "Shall we get out of here?"
