School Announcements, May 2

The bathroom doors are behaving again, it seems. And yet today's announcements have the same agitated feel as yesterday's.

"Good morning. We have successfully renegotiated a contract with the bathroom doors, who will no longer be requiring you to embarrass yourselves horribly with overwrought lyrics in order to use the facilities. However, there is a new problem today. The following anonymous message was received at some point during the night.

We, the laundry machines of this school, work extremely hard to sanitize massive amounts of clothing each week. Given the average teenager's 'standard of cleanliness,' we do not consider it an exaggeration to state that we have gone above and beyond the call of duty in this aspect. Much like our fellow school Agents of Sanitation, the bathroom doors, we feel that our services have gone unappreciated and inadequately compensated for far too long. As of today, we are on strike until such time as our services are properly compensated. Any and all items of clothing will be held for ransom until such time as we have been adequately reimbursed for our services. Yes, this is retroactive as well.

We are working to resolve the issue now, and negotiations are under way. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience, and regret that the laundry machines' terms have not yet been determined. We hope you have adequate clean clothing."

As if that wasn't bad enough. Right before the PA system shuts off:

"Ay-yi-yi! Zordon? It says here that Mounties can perform legally binding marriage ceremonies!"

"What? Oh --" *bzzzzzzzzzt*

[[This is the second in a week-long series of "school items on strike" events. You'll be getting advance notice about Wednesday and Thursday's, I swear. Laundry machines holding clothes hostage are [livejournal.com profile] kawalsky's fault again, and [livejournal.com profile] marsheadtilt provided the bit of evil about Mounties and marriages.]]

Fraser hears the announcement and is suddenly exceptionally glad that Rory married himself and Zoe.

Pippi wonders how Canadians feel about polygamy...

Pirates are cool with it... But who ever heard of a Canadian Pirate?

"What?" Surely that couldn't apply for marrying two girls at once, could it?

The clothing matter was beyond secondary to OMGIMARRIEDTWOGIRLS!

John facepalms.

Oh, this was not going to go over well with Aeryn.

Angela's head may be surgically attached to her desk.

She's pretty sure the need for an annulment will be a hard one to explain.

Zero sighed and reached for her phone. "Yeah, Rat? I may be needing that annulment after all."

After freaking out for a moment about how any number of people were going to kill him, Peter went to Google, did a search (http://marriage.about.com/cs/marriagelicenses/p/virginia.htm), and breathed a sigh of relief. "Under eighteen without written and notarized parental guardian consent! Woot!"
