"Last week," Summer started cheerfully, in a way that might make some be a little wary that she'd actually managed to find something even worse than last week's contribution, but, rest assured, she was merely just riding the high the the pus cupcakes…probably, "we talked about how much of an impact what you put in your cupcakes can make with filling them. This week, we're going to be looking at the impact of what can happen when what you put into your cupcakes is alcohol."

Stark, for his part, was always somewhat wary when it came to Summer’s food ideas. Stark was no fool. Usually. “Like the champagne I used last week?” He was foolishly hopeful sometimes though. “Or sangria? Maybe bourbon?”

"Or Malört"!" Summer said cheerfully, clearly the one word that everyone definitely wanted to hear just then, as she gestured to a tray of otherwise innocuous looking cupcakes in front of her.

“Summer, no,” Stark said. “Nobody wants that in a cupcake! I’m not sure anyone really wants to drink it, either.” It existed just so people could torture others by making them try it, didn’t it? “I have champagne, again. This time for these cranberry mimosa cupcakes.”

"Hmmm," Summer looked a little thoughtful for a moment. "Do you think maybe the PBR cupcakes would be better, then?"

“Beer in cupcakes is fine,” Stark said, looking at her a little suspiciously. “Unless you’re doing something else to it? Or is that terrible beer? Does it taste like the Malört? Or worse? I don’t know.”

Turning back towards the students, he continued, “if it’s worse than Malört I don’t recommend it. But there are plenty of options for things that aren’t worse. We have many of them here for you to utilize if you wish.” He just hoped nobody was going to use the Malört, Anakin.

Like you've tasted something horrible.

Nobody will blame you for wishing you had a drink right now.

Will you be choosing evil booze today? Malört or something worse? Or will you be choosing to follow the light and the good booze?

If you want, for some unfathomable reason, to try the Malört, they’ll let you. One might even be gleeful about it.

Stark was not going to be gleeful about anyone trying the gross booze. He was just going to quietly judge.

Anakin Skywalker

Sometimes Anakin liked to watch the world burn, okay, and cupcakes were a pretty low-stakes way to let that happen. So he was definitely picking up the Malört.

Honestly, Summer was just really hoping someone managed to impress her by coming up with something actually worse than the Malört.

"Is the PBR worse than the Malört?" Stark asked. "I'm curious, now."

This was a dangerous line of questioning and he knew it.

"I think it's worse conceptually," Summer explained. "Like, at least the Malört seems to be making a statement. The PBR is just all...'well, I'm beer in a cupcake...'"

"It's worse because it's... boring?" Stark asked. "That makes sense."

It made sense to him, anyway, and that was enough.

"Have you tried your cupcakes? Does it taste as bad after it's been baked? Or is it worse? You should try mine. You'll like them."

"Anakin." Stark wasn't mad. Stark was just disappointed.

Strangely, Anakin was more comfortable when at least one person was disappointed in him. "The fruit cocktail and ham one turned out!"

Sort of!

Stark was here to offer endless disappointment, Anakin!

"Did it? Really?"

"I liked it!"

That was not the same thing.

"Exactly," said Summer, looking pleased that Stark had gotten it, especially since, let's face it, anyone who knew her could agree that 'it's worse because it's boring' was a philosophy that she certainly tried to live by.

And that pleased expression transitioned easily into a more innocent one.

"And I'll try yours," she said sweetly, "if you try mine."

"Why?" Stark asked.

Stark liked to think he knew Summer fairly well by now.

"I think we had this conversation last week, didn't we? And we decided it was best to just eat my cupcakes? But...these at least don't look gross. Better than the oozing ones from last week."

"Why not?" Anakin replied. "Salty and sweet are good together!"
