“There's a holiday tomorrow,” Stark said. “With chocolates and hearts and flowers. I thought about chocolate but then I worried what my co-teacher might do to that chocolate. I'm still worried.”

Just look at all that worry on Stark's face. Really.

To that, Summer could only scoff. "Pffft," she said. "Like I'm going to stick with anything as pedestrian as just chocolate today. I mean, you could do chocolate, it's going to fit into our focus of the day, but you could also do plenty of other things. Because a trend in cupcakes, cakes, and desserts in general these days is definitely giving a little extra surprise with those cupcakes by including a filling."

Sounded pretty safe so far, right? Only if you didn’t know Summer! Stark knew Summer very well and was eyeing her warily.

“I’ve made a strawberry champagne filling for strawberry champagne cupcakes,” he said, gesturing proudly in the direction of his cupcakes once he stopped watching Summer. “They seemed…seasonally appropriate?” That they were also likely to be something his co-teacher would enjoy was an even bigger reason he’d gone that route but surely everyone knew that already.

"And I made…." Summer started, tilted her head as she considered how to best describe what she made. "....well, I'll just let them [NSFL link omg] speak for themselves."

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

"So as you can see," Summer continued along brightly as if she hadn't just ruined everyone's whole hour, day, possibly week or month, "there's a lot of different directions you can go with a filled cupcake. Let's see what direction you decide to take!"

Stark just sighed and rubbed at his eye as if trying to erase the memory of what he’d just seen.

Stare in total horror at what Summer brought in!

"Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy," Anakin said, slapping his hand over his eyes.

"No one knows," Stark said. "It may be better that way."

"Reactions like that," said Summer, with a pleased, blissful sigh and a smile to match, "that's why."

Maybe with a touch less ooze?

One of them is very sorry for what transpired here.

And that one is not Summer.

Summer regretted nothing.

"How did you even find those?" Stark asked. He was still torn between being amused and horrified. Maybe he should just settle on impressed?

"The internet," said Summer, with a pleased,happy, wistful sigh as she gazed upon her hideous genius in all its disgusting glory, "is truly both a beautiful and terrible place."

She had no idea how she was going to top this one, but you know what? She was fine with that.

"It is," Stark said, shaking his head but smiling as he did it.

"You're not planning on making anything quite this gross tomorrow, are you? This is very gross."

"This might even be too gross even for me," Summer admitted, both proud and mystified by such a thing, "but no. Nothing gross for tomorrow."

Well, usual weird flavor combo cravings that might pop up aside, but those barely even counted any more.

"I want to be able to actually eat what we make tomorrow."

"Nothing gross at all?" Stark asked, eyebrow raised.

"I want to be able to eat too. But I am very impressed by these... things you made."

He couldn't even call them cupcakes.

Which was...fair.

"Nothing gross at all," Summer confirmed, with a nod. Not anything intentionally gross, anyway, but, whatever, same difference.

"Consider it a way to make up for...these things I made."

One of which she was just going to poke at, just a little, just enough to nudge some of the filling out.

You know.

For emphasis.

"Gross," Stark said with feeling. "You've outdone yourself here."

Which meant he probably ought to be very worried about how she might try to top these things in the future.

"I'm... impressed."

Summer got the feeling that Stark's word choice didn't quite convey what he was really feeling, but she would take it anyway, beaming proudly.

"Thanks!" she said. "Yours look pretty good, too."

She'll actually eat his cupcakes without having to be blindfolded!

Impressed was definitely part of what Stark was feeling.

"You should try one," he said. "I think you'll like it."

He was almost completely sure she would, actually.

"And they shouldn't ooze much at all."

"If I try one of yours," said Summer, because obviously he had to know she'd at least ask, "are you going to try one of mine?"

"Mine aren't gross," Stark pointed out.

"I'll try yours if you try yours. And I'll try mine."

"Looks like we're both just trying your cupcakes!" said Summer, cheerfully, with barely even a pause to even consider any other possible outcome.

"That's fair," Stark said. He tried not to sound too relieved.

"What flavor are yours even meant to be? Or is it better not to know?"

It was probably better not to know.

"Here." He picked up one of his creations and held it out. "Strawberry and champagne with very little oozing."

"That's too bad," said Summer, who was already being the worst, might as well go big or go home, as she took the offered cupcake. "I usually like my strawberries and champagne with plenty of oozing.

"And I think the flavor is just....gross. i am glad to say I haven't had enough pus in my mouth to confidently say it just tastes like that. But the cupcakes themselves are just vanilla."

"I think everyone is better off not eating one then. But these," Stark said, holding up his own cupcake, "should be delicious and not gross at all."

He took a big bite to demonstrate, ending up with icing and filling on his lips that he tried to wipe off.

It was Stark. He was very sorry. And horrified.

But also very amused, let's be real here.
