Creature Languages, 5/01, Period 4

Dream looked stern as he handed out the final quizzes of the year to the Creature Languages students.

"Hello. I hope you have all begun work on your creature interviews for your papers on Thursday; see me in my office this afternoon if you have encountered difficulties. You have a quiz today. I wish all of you luck."

The quiz consists of a true/false section, some translations from Shark, Lobster and Monkey, and a writing exercise. It is designed to be completed quickly, so that students can use the rest of class working on their final papers.

Walter's had practice with native speakers in all three languages in the past few days.

Pippi also gets an A.

Though her writing exercise in lobster contains some seriously foul language.

Hmmm, where could she have learned that?

B

She's studied, but is really much better at cat.

Draco gets a low B.

Molly really hadn't had a whole lot of time to study lately. Plus, she had other things on her mind right now.

C

Jake gets a solid B, after brushing up on his Shark this morning.

Despite having been a weetiny person all weekend, Zero put in enough studying beforehand she does pretty well. A-

Xander gets a B+; it'd have been an A- if he wasn't a little distracted with wondering whether his weetiny interview this weekend would actually work for his paper. Somehow it seems only fair that it should? But he's not sure if that's residual weetiny logic, or big-person logic, totally aside from the issue of whether it's Earth logic.

Blair gets an A.

Stark gets a B+. His Shark and Monkey are both solid, Lobster a little less so, but since he wasn't weetiny he'd had time to study.

Sakura manages a C, somehow or another. 'Cause she actually is pretty good at Shark!

Chatter, pass notes, or bug the teacher.

Pippi works on her project with Mr. Neilson sitting on her shoulder eating mints form Cafe Fina.

Walter also works on his project trying to figure out how he can work his lobster and shark adventures in with his interview with Furrball as potential extra credit.

"We could try to talk to a shark again maybe..." said Pippi to Walter.

"I want a knife." Which to Walter is an entirely logical answer to that suggestion.

"I don't think knives speak shark." Which to Pippi was an entirely logical response.

"But they do speak 'hey don't take a bite out of my leg.'"

"I suppose that is a universal language."
