The Renaissance: Art & Science, Friday, 2nd period
"Well, if you didn't check before getting into the shower this morning, it was probably a rude way to wake up," Steve began, "and so we're not going to tax your brains too much with our final class today."
Tony was drinking what appeared to be one of those canned coffees with a mildly sullen look about it. "So, today we'll just be thinking about the effects of the Renaissance on the modern world. Things like the printing press or the rediscovery of classic Greek and Roman philosophy."
Steve nodded. "And the emphasis on science and rational thought, in addition to non-Church funding of the arts, lead to an era of discovery and progress so enormous we still discuss it many centuries later."
"So, let's have some hot cocoa and consider what we think is the best outcome of the Renaissance in either art or science. You pick," Tony said.
