US Government (Friday, April 28, 4th period)

Josh smiled as the class walked into the room for the last time. "You guys have been a lot of fun to teach this semester," he said, looking at all of them. "Hope you learned a little bit of how the American system of government works, but if you didn't, don't tell me, okay? I'd like to think I taught you something. Anyway, have a good summer, and I'll see you back here in the Fall. Except for the seniors, of course--good luck with whatever you end up doing away from Fandom." He smiled. "Just as a warning, I wouldn't mention weetiny bunnies to anyone who hasn't, you know, been here. They might think you're insane."

He passed out the final exam, then sat down at his desk.

1. What concepts of Roman and Greek government did the American Founding Fathers use when coming up with the way they wanted this country to work? Which philosophers of the time influenced their thinking?

2. What was the Great Compromise? How about the 3/5 Compromise?

3. Give me two Constitutional responsibilities of the President of the United States. Throwing out the first pitch isn't one of them, just in case you were wondering.

4. How does a bill become a law? Humming will be mocked.

5. How many Supreme Court justices are there? What do they do?

EC: The Executive Branch is the most powerful branch of the federal government. Prove me right or wrong.

[OOC: Answer the questions or handwavey me an idea of how your character did. Entirely up to you!}

Marty struggles through the exam as best he can. He may have been humming at one point.

After being a girl for a day? The mocking for humming is not that big of a threat.

Overall Marty passes.

Barely.

Despite all her freaking out over the past couple of days, Elizabeth has absolutely no problems with the exam. She still takes the entire time allocated though and covers several pages with tiny handwriting.

Isabel kept up with the work all semester and studied well enough so that everything was fairly fresh in her mind. She did just fine on the exam.

Alphonse may have stared at the test longer than actually working on it, but in the end he gets an average grade.

Angela paid enough attention in class that she does fairly well on the exam, though her answers on the second question are more vague and inventive than accurate. But she makes up for it in extra credit.

It was a good thing Sam was an experienced crammer and had studied almost exactly what she'd needed to know for the final, except for the part about the philosophers. She spent a lot of time talking about John Locke, even though her answer to that part was a bit vague and may not have had much to do with the Founding Fathers.

For extra credit, she wrote about how the Judicial Branch was actually the most powerful.

Peter flew through the exam pretty quickly. He did rather well due to being a nerd who studies too much, but he blew the extra credit due to being somewhat distracted by shaving cream yesterday.

Lindsey had a little bit of trouble writing things out with the busted-up arm and all, but he managed. His answer to question 1 was really vague and not entirely correct, and he hummed shamelessly while answering question 4.

He would have had a B, but with the extra credit it ended up a B+.

John's enjoyed this class. He knows this stuff and is able to get every answer quickly and, hopefully, correctly.

He passes.

Duo actually remembered to study this time! He ends up doing pretty well. He's definitely starting to get why he hates only one group of old dudes making all the rules--this old American way works a heck of a lot better. Plus, he figured he might as well do okay on final about his own country's old government.

Re: After class--say goodbye to Josh

"Thank you for this semester," Elizabeth stopped in front of his desk and smiled at Josh.
